Move Threads from Forums to Social Groups
 

Adds additional functionality of allowing moderators to move threads to a social group. It works by creating a new discussion group and then copying posts across to the discussion group in the selected social group. The selected thread then gets Soft Deleted with message Moved Thread to Social Group: Test group 1 where Test group 1 is the name of the Social Group it was moved to.

How to use mod

1. Open thread
2. Thread Tools -> Move Thread -> Perform Action
3. Add new subject if you wish
4. As Destination Forum, scroll down to bottom where a list of social groups are

1. Is it possible to further develop this so that we can move more than one thread to a social group?
   
2. Is it safe to delete the original thread after it's copied into a new social group?

good job, but i've a request: i need that the thread's shadow works correctly like a normal link/redirect ... :)

Seems to struggle with large threads, think it's a memory timeout.

I assume you are referring to re-direct options. The social group discussions are not threads and as such it is not possible to create such a re-direct.

It will do, each post of the thread has to be re-created as a discussion post. I expect this is why it is not a feature in stock vbulletin. I will work on optimizing the code when I've got a bit of time, so there isn't memory timeout.

I solve my problem increasing the Maximum Characters Per Social Group Message

vBulletin Options > vBulletin Options > Social Group Options

Does this work the other way? Like move social group threads into the forum?

No.

Nice - needs to be updated though as it strips out loads of the BBCODE, even if you set it to allowed in the Admin CP (I see the disallowed ones are hardcoded in).

Would also be good if you could set it to remove the old thread completely, as in a proper move. (Would have to trick the DM if you did that though as I don't allow hard deletes on the forum by default)

Habe 3.8.1 und bei mir gehts nicht ... mit dem Addon soll man doch Themen in eine Gruppe verschieben können oder? Also per moderation geht es net....

Is there any way to move threads from social groups to forums? I have some great stuff in dead social groups that would work well in specialist forums on my site. Anyone knkow how to do this?

An Idea for New -similar- mod!

Me and a lot of other users, we need a new mod to "move threads from social groups to forums". :(
Personally, I need it to increase the activity of the forum (for example, when an important/insterested topic is on a group, I would like to move it to the forum to see it all the members).
