Contact Us - Alternate Emails per Subject

1 Attachment(s)
With this modification you can set any of the various Contact Us options you setup in the admincp to each go to a different email address. Or only specific ones.

Version: 1.0

Install:
  • Upload the XML file in the Product Manager
  • Navigate to your Admincp -> Vbulletin Options -> Site Name / URL / Contact Details
  • Fill out the field as specified for "Alternate Emails per Subject".
The syntax for the field is very simple:
(emailaddress):(exact text of subject option)
(second email address):(second exact text of subject option)

You only need to enter the ones you do not want to go to the webmaster address.

Any that you don't fill out for, or if anyone uses the "Other" option, those will automatically send to the webmaster email address per normal.

Attached is a screenshot.

Of course, donations are always appreciated but never required :)

Enjoy!!

What about:
Quote:

Contact Us Options
If you are using the built-in contact form at sendmessage.php you can specify subjects for users to pick from. An "other" option will be added to any options you specify here.

Each subject must be placed one per line, meaning that you need to enter a carriage return between subject (press <Enter>). If you wish to direct the email from a subject to a particular user, you can either specify the user's userid on the forum or their email address. You do this by placing the item in brackets at the start of the subject.

Example:

{1} Site Feedback
{example@blabla.com} Help
Registration

Feedback sent to the first option "Site Feedback" would be directed to the email address of Userid #1. Feedback sent to the second option "Help" would be directed to the email address "example@blabla.com". Feedback sent to the third option "Registration" would be directed to the Webmaster's email address.
It's not the same?...

Can you link me to that one? I couldn't find a mod that did this from about 30 minutes of searching and digging =/

Excelent product Chris. Thanks

TCattitude 07-15-2009 09:25 PM

Cyricx, It's just vb's default :D
Click on the help icon on: vboptions -> Site Name / URL / Contact Details -> Contact Us Options.
Put one line with {email@domain.com} as a prefix, and that subject will send those emails to that specific adress.

No need for a new plugin or product ;)

In fact there is. As this mod makes it easier for people like "ME", as i only new about what you said "In the Quote" until now. so i think this MOD will help some people.

Great Mod Installed!

If nothing else maybe it'll attract more people to knowing about that :)

I wonder what version they added that in LOL. I'd laugh if it's been there for a long time and I've never noticed it in the 6 years of running vb hehe.

This one just sends it via email.

Something you can evidently do by default though it isn't well advertised :(

Hehe. *shrug*

It is not a mod. It is the Contact Us Options field. What he linked to was the inline help. vBulletin has supported this since vBulletin 3.0.0. was released in 2003.

Have installed the mod and am not finding a way to do what I would like to accomplish, did not find a way for the internal contact option to handle my problem so was hoping that this mod would solve the problem.

What I need to do is to have the contact form when somebody sends a request for help with registration send out two (2) emails to two different email addresses at the same time, same email requesting help but to two seperate addresses.
I spent the evening trying to get the mod to do this but with no luck.
