Very Good idea & excellent hack... Thanks & Installed.
|
Great idea! Thanks! Installed
EDIT: Any idea why the "Forum Rules Menu" wouldn't be showing up in the ADMINCP? The only option I have available is the vbRules that's listed with the vb options. I've checked to make sure the xml file got copied to my server, and it's there. Thanks EDIT: Nevermind... I got it working... :) It was my own mistake. nothing on your part. |
Nice to see you again with a great hack. Thank you and installed!:)
|
A great hack as always, thanks Anton

Quick question:
I currently have version 2.0.3 installed and in this new 2.1.0 you say all template edits are eliminated... What template edits were there in 2.0.3?? Any other than adding the link to navbar?? I need to know this.. Thanks. ;) |
The link in the navbar was added, but there was also a replacement in register_rules.

D'oh! Uploaded to the wrong folder... :o Got it. :) |
Since I don't use the standard nav bar on my site, I have a left side menu and would like to add this to that. I figured out this myself but for those that need more info,
The name where you have to direct it is www.yoursitename.com/forum/rules.php Thanks for the hack, this will be a good way to direct people that seem to break the rules and dont remember them. |

Italian language ;)

I feel like I should know this, but I can't find the phrase or the link in the navbar template that links to the rules, I use vBadvanced, so on my "index" which isn't contained in my /forums directory I'm getting a link that doesn't exist. IE: http://www.grievous.us/rules.php instead of http://www.grievous.us/forums/rules.php. Anyone have any ideas?
|
thanks ..
|
I'm having an odd problem where the first set of rules are the only ones taking BBCode. I have the rest set as BBCode on, but it doesn't parse correctly.
|
Good hack thank you

Everything is specified in the zip file - Initially, I had uploaded them to a subfolder instead of thr forum root.
rules.php -> forum root /admincp/rule_admin.php -> /admincp/ /includes/xml/cpnav_psi_vbrules.xml -> /includes/xml/ |
Quote:
i've put the first two in the right place, i can't find the /includes folder, but i did import the xml, so i guess that takes care of it? (edit to add i found the includes folder and sorted that bit out, but i'm still getting a 404) i've now got a forum rules link but it goes to rules.php and brings up a 404 error message? sorry to be dumb :( |
Quote:
1. product-psi_vbrules.xml is the one you import, the product file 2. cpnav_psi_vbrules.xml has to be uploaded to {forum root}/includes/xml/ If you skip step two, you won't have the item in your Admin CP to add any rules, which may be why you are getting the 404 error. (But also make sure that rules.php is uploaded to the forum root.) |
success!!
thank you djbaxter :) |

The hooks used point to gamingitis.com/forums/#rule1 when it should be gamingitis.com/forums/rule.php#rule1
