What is it ?

Another forum game. Maybe you know it as:

• T'en fais pas (France)
• Frustration (USA)
• Chińczyk (Poland)
• Mens, erger je niet (Netherlands)
• Mensch ?rgere dich nicht (Germany)

I wrote this game in 2004 for vB 2.3, 3.0 and 3.5.
This version may work also with vB 3.7.x.

Notes & FAQs:
There is a minimum of 2 player required and there's a maximum of 4 players.
You also have the option to set 3 AI (artificial intelligences). That means,
1 human and 3 computer players = 4 players.

How to start:
Choose the count of human and computer players. If there's one or more player missing, the game is waiting for another human player. You can cancel the game every time.

Rules:
You know the game ? See rules inside the game.

Can I add my own boards/styles
Yes, you can. The image-folder is always:
images/fourpins/...

Inside, there are two styles (default and bird) to add a 3rd one, do the follwing things:
Draw a board with the sizes: 416x416 and call it: 3fourpins_MyBoard.jpg
Create the pins for that board (size: 32x32px) and place it into a folder called: fourpins3

So, the 3rd style is called in the game: MyBoard

Works fine on my board Coroner, but still can't get the Sudoku game to work. Oh well, this one is fun, I've already been playing it. lol

About Sudoku - I think you really need php5.
The original version I build year ago, has also 4 different levels, but all levels are fixed (20 sudokus each).

I've never played this before, but it is kind of fun. And I like that you can play other members.

When there is a game startet - you only have the choice to join.
That's why you couldn't see the image.

I joined the game and canceled it.
Next what I saw, was the image, the menu ...

Small little suggestion for a future version (I haven't updated yet, so it may be you've already thought of this), when the turns refresh the window and you have quite a bit of stuff in the navbar region of your forums, you have to scroll down for every roll and every turn. Could you set the reload to look for an anchor point each time? That way we wouldn't have to do some much scrolling. (Ideally, it would be nice to have it reload via AJAX, but I don't want to push it.)

Wouldnt it be better if it were in an iframe to only refresh the game & not the whole site?

Bug?: When rolling the dice, I rolled a six. But game refreshed & it turned into a five....this happens after every roll for myself & cpu players...the number on the dice changes.

? Don't know what the image say.
I have an animated dice and I think the last one is 6. So, after the roll it change to the number you really roll.

can you find some better animation for dice and make that all players see dice?

how to change some rules on play - make like home you go rules?

Refreshing is always tricky for games (that's the greates problem).
Another idea is AJAX, but this is a lot of hard work.
So, the easiest way is to refresh the whole page - that's why you can set the refreshtime in the AdminCP.

Sorry, I'm not sure what you mean.

I don't think that's actually a bug, as it just appears to be the image displayed before your actual roll, which is not until the page refreshes.


If you can get the page to at least load on an anchor point, that would help somewhat.

I had to look at the screenies; but it seems as though this is a very similar game to Sorry! or Trouble. Never heard of 4 pins or Frustration.

Anyways; looks great, can't wait to try it. ^^
