Military, Ranks, Ribbons, Warfare Devices, etc
 

What's going on everybody? Just curious to how many people would use this if I release this after its all complete. It's a very large mod, but VERY quick to install. I'm basically making something that shows military ranks, ribbons, warfare devices, etc., each on their own page related to the branch of service. It's already taken me quite some time and I'm still not even close to done with it. So, let me know if you would like something like this.

Just make sure it's accurate. Otherwise your military folks will never let you forget it. :D ;)

Sorry, not yet. I'm still trying to figure what the best layout for this would be for certain things. I've re-done the layout a couple times now already. I will post some up though when I get everything situated.
I am in the military and I know the ranks and everything almost by heart for each branch so it SHOULD be accurate unless there's a typo somewhere. I usually triple-check everything before I release it here though. :) Thanks

Heh.. Ranks are one thing. Awards and decorations? Ugh... Every branch has their own and it can get confusing.

Also, just so someone doesn't get the wrong idea, there's a lot more to it that just that one page. It's not even close to done, I just want to get everybody's opinions and suggestions.

No, there's several pages. There's enlisted, officers, and a few others ;)

Disable them by branch? Or how do you mean? By user preference or admincp?

Well, as a flyboy, I'm not sure I'd want to be staring at squids all day. :D

I've just implemented user options via the usercp (yes/no radio buttons) to whether they want to turn on/off each branch. Anymore suggestions or ideas?

Ok, more progress pictures after I updated and finished a couple more things. The whole thing should be done in a couple more weeks :)

EDIT: The ribbons will be clickable and when clicked, that will take you to a page with the medals for that ribbon if it has a medal, along with other details

Hmmmm. Not sure where you're going with all this, but you may wish to consider ranking the awards and decorations by service, rather than lumping them together. Starting with MoH, Purple Heart, etc. until you get to the "everyone gets one" foo-foo medals and awards.

Nice bump as I noticed some older missing ranks but still people older than 45 browse the internet.

Spec 5 thru Spec 9 are missing from the list:

Can you make an option to add some ranks? or rank images? Perhaps take out specific ranks like Specialist, even though i know its a real rank etc.

Can you link ranks to peoples accounts, for example, when a user reaches a certain ammount of posts, they get the rank "Private", make this rank clickable and link it to the ranks page already facing the specific rank? Also in your table of colums, "army ranks, navy, airforce, can you add one customizable like "Rank Requirements" for people who will be using it as their clan roster. fully customizable so we can say for private, you need to ... for a clan... recruit 1 person and achieve 50 posts, though it might not be able to be auto updated unless - you make a popup for an admin that asks, "User XXX Achieved 50 posts, Promote him? So we know where ppl are at posting wise if you integrated the posting for rank feature, it may sound so confusing not sure if it makes sense :P

Or an option in the control panel or something to "set rank" or promote, if they arent using the posts system, like a roster fully customizable and yet easily maintained.

I probably sound really confusing because well i don't code so i don't know if this is possible just an idea, looks great, cheers.
