What do you think of this idea?

Ok this idea is still just that, an idea.

Basically I want to host a forum for coders/designers to host their work and also get recruited from the site. Kind of like a directory of coders and skinners.I was just wondering if there is any point to it and if anyone would join (mainly from vBulletin obviously).

I will obviously need some modifications so I'll take a look but before I start planning I just need to know what you think of the idea.

Thanks for the idea :p

Do you think it is a good idea?

I also would like to know of any systems I could use e.t.c

What do you think www.vbulletin.org is?

The idea stinks.

many people have tried this idea and as much as it sounds good it always fails.
Name one other board that offers all these hacks etc besides vb.org ??

I think there are already quite a few sites that have vbulletin hacks. Unless you can come up with some new idea regarding them, you will just end up being another site with nothing new to offer.

What's wrong with VB.org?

quite a good question... sometimes i'm questioning the people who wants to start sites that duplicate the usage of another... not only on vb.org, but a lot of fan sites are just doing the same thing as the others... these sites owners just wanted to "make it their way".. but their way is based on the others sites, they just change the color of the theme...

Nothing is wrong with vbulletin.org infact I love it, I just think that maybe there could have been a directory for coders rather than having a select few contact you.

The way I see it now is the request for paid services thread, the coders who are online and can reply almost instantly will get the job. However I think that if users were also able to go through some sort of directory of coders they can pick who is best and not just who is online.

As I said this was just an idea and I am glad you have told me what happens to sites like these, thank for all the comments...

Some better than others....

Maybe I should just suggest this for vb.org then.

nexialys 05-12-2009 09:06 AM

we already had some coders directory, they all failed... for one reason: Jelsoft not supporting the site.

there will be a solid directory when Jelsoft say so.

vBulletin is not an open-source product, you have to be managed by the head of the project to perform...

Not exactly a directory, but you can get a list of (vb.org) coders here;
