the edit templates link

opens the templates selector, just like clicking the <<>> button:D

but if you access it this way it will not show the admincp side column :D

there isnt any more dir in admincp other than control_examples so how would i edit it, as im having a problem with it maybe towards permissions.

there never was any dir in admincp.... what is your goal actually, because what you ask means nothing.

have you tried using the default admincp skin?

not the skins, iv tried re-installing them and no luck

writing complete sentences helps a lot ...

the problem does not seems to be the skins, (located in /cpstyles/) because they are loaded in the sidebar and top part of the display... you may have modified something to make this happen...

well its wierd cos this randomly happned when the forum wasnt being used or edited by any admins... im thinking its to do with the host but thats hostgator so im confuesed.

were you able to re-upload your styles in the proper place?... because as you say, Hostgator is not used to have problems for files. ... but if you're on a server that have been upgraded lately, it may be the problem... they are cleaning their computers park...

try disabling your hooks(modifications) and see if that helps:

to do this folow these instructions:

At the very begining of your config.php located in your incudes folder, right under the <?php

add:
then browse your admincp has this made a difference??

remeber when you have your answer to remove the line from your config.php file!

well as nexy suggested try asking hostgator if the problem is on there end, use the 24 hour livechat and see what they say, its good i've used it, as i am with hostgator too, although i have had no problem

I asked on live chat they said there only level 1 so they put a support ticket out for me.

let us know how you get on suport tickets are usually answered quite quickly too

well i did the support ticket at about half 10 this morning so just waiting now ;[

Right one of my admins just installed another vB (also our licence) onto the hostgator server and it works altho our other test one which was made around a year ago and the main board still have the template error. now im super confused.

Have you looked in your error_logs? (If you dont' know where they are, you should ask your host.)
