Apple™ just hit 1 000 000 000 small apps for iPhone today... 9 months after selling the first one.

imagine if vBulletin had that count of licensed... what would be the rythm of support on vB.org?

would we have a minute of free time ?

well lets be fair here - 99% of apps/games on the app store for the iphone are pure crap and have no value to them at all.But there is some gems out there thats for sure.
But regardless if they crap or good ,one thing for certain is that apple is coining it in.

it have to be a hell of webserver just for this service, having more than a billion downloads... 4 millions download per day... woooo

I'd be interested to know how many licenses jelsoft have sold over the years. That would allow another interesting stat for mods to be calculated: %age of all forums that this mod is installed on :p

look at it at how much they making - because Apple stiffle the competition.
I own an Iphone and know what crap is available on there.

I think Apple deserve their sucess. I'm not an apple lover but the reverse but regardless of that they earned their sucess and foresee the future and predicted well what people would want.

Billion copies of vbulletin? I reckon with that many copies sold I would be promoted as site coordinator level 3 because they need supporters even more which would lead to jelsofts downfall with sales sharply declining at a consistent rate resulting in 1 copy sold per annum - customer being me. Supporting myself, suggestion features to myself, and over the next 2 years predicting sales will fall further into the red.

Doesn't look good at all. What if a comet hurtled towards earth a minute before jelsoft were one away from a billionth sale. That would have been a worthy thread in itself.

its like entire people of India holding a copy of vbulletin hehe.. its huge simply huge.. I am sure vb.org forums will become much slower and have a lot of downtime unless its moved to an even more high end dedicated server.. lol..

actually i would say the same about vb... why in hell do we have 35 copies of the same hack over and over, doing the exact same thing but simple a slice different so we need a new release each time... people always have a reason somewhere...
