5th in search result on Google
 

I'm just curious, how important/big is it to have a domain listed in the 5th search result out of 136,000,000 on Google? What would you do if you owned a domain that was that high on the list?

I'd probably be out driving my Lambo around... 'cause I'm sure as hell gonna be able to afford one if positioned that high. If you're positioned that high and not generating insane income, you got big issues IMO.

It all depends on what you are searching for..... I'm listed first on several and this is only a hobby... but what you are searching for is the key!

Well out of 136 million searches I was thinking that's pretty high for a non-functioning website. Imagine if someone actually did something with it.

Again it all depends on what the word or words you are searching for are.

If could mean a bunch and it could mean squat!

Ok, Google search this exact term. Then take time to think about any and every possible concept that could be viable. Here's the term, "my friends list". Take a look. What would or could you do with that? Look at number 5 on the list(myfriendslist.com). My mind spins when I think about the possibilities.

If this is your site then yes you have some options for sure.... but in my opinion everyone is chasing the top few on this topic... but it could still do very well.

Well IMO, having an exact term specific domain is valuable no matter the subject. Sorta like owning car, house, or refrigerator.com. While this isn't friendslist.com, it's close, and the fact it's currently 5th out of 136 million searches(now 137 million) I think speaks for itself. At this point, every site in social nature has a friends list option. Let's not to mention the myriad of instant messengers that have friends lists as well. Just throwing that out there. I was just curious to hear the thoughts of some of the members here.

just google "site: yoursite.com" and see how many hits ya get

this is mine... Results 1 - 10 of about 776 for site: ftasolutions.com. (0.17 seconds)

i just did vbulletin.org.... Results 1 - 10 of about 1,060,000 for site: vbulletin.org. (0.46 seconds)

the 137,000,000 are pages that are stored in google, it doesn't mean that 137,000,000 people have searched that term.

So as long as you understand that part your ok lol


It's a good name for sure and good luck with it, hopefully you can do some good with it. :)

I guess my point here is that if you Google a term or phrase, you get a list of results. The fact that ANY domain that has 136 million result pages comes up would/should be valuable if you are one of those at the top of the list. My guess is, there are a ton of sites with similarly formed domain structures in nature. Most of which are some type of web directory. I was just curious, not trying to start some uber-debate. LOL.

I know what you mean, what i posted is a nice tool to see the google hits ya get.

Here's what I searched, "myfriendslist.com". Here's what I got back. Results 1 - 10 of about 1,650,000 for myfriendslist.com. (0.07 seconds).

Here's a search for "my friends list". Here's what I got. Results 1 - 10 of about 137,000,000 for my friends list. (0.14 seconds)

IDK, but seems to me. With the right people, this domain could do rather well.

the question about the size is irrelevant
it's the amount of backlinks you have
a one page site could be #1 for any given term, if it was content on the page and a ton of backlinks ;)
