Upgrading from an older version of my style.

Overwrite the "yourforum.com/simpleblue" directory with the one in the 3.8.3 zip.
Upload the Language XML (THIS IS NEEDED FOR PARTS OF THE SKIN WHICH ARE CUSTOM CODED TO WORK)
Upload the Style XML and click "Allow overwrite"

If you are unsure, drop me a PM and I shall install the style for a very reasonable price.

Editting the Dynamic News Content Block

Go to the style manager, and then navbar template, and at the bottom of the navbar template, there is the sidebar blocks. Find and edit the:

Editting Content Blocks

Go to the style manager, and then navbar template, and at the bottom of the navbar template, there is the sidebar blocks. Find "" and edit the content, which you should see easily, as it is plain text and not code.

When I download this and try to open it I get an error saying something like -

Hmm, that is most odd. Tell you what, heres an alternate download link that I just upped right now, I tested the archive and it works fine.

I can do the quick links when I get back to my computer from the laptop.

There are no plans to make it any smaller at this time, though this can probably be achieved through a code change, again, a short wait and I'll have you a code.

Added two extra XML's both contain quick links and community dropdowns, one is slimmer, optimised for 800 x 600 as HostBidder requested, and the other is regular size, with a quick links and community dropdown, added.

Thanks for that Mikey. I installed your theme on my forum yesterday. When I upload the new xml file, do I need to do anything to apply it to my forum - e.g. do I need to edit one of the theme templates and change the xml URL?

Nope, if you so wished, you could have all three variants of the skin running alongside each other, as they all have separate names in the XML files respectively, all you need to do is go to download/upload templates in your style manager, and choose the XML you wish, or just import both, they all call images from the same place, so no image paths need updating or changing.

Aha, Got it, I know why it isn't working now.

The hack, is looking for a button named 'post_thanks.gif' and our button is called 'thanks.gif'

Thanks Mikey, that worked perfectly and the button is now displaying.

The member's profile pages (e.g. this one) don't resolve completely at 800x600 screen res, in your 800x600 skin. But there is a lot of info there, perhaps this is something that can't be fixed.

I don't work at 800 x 600 you see, I work at 1280 x 960, which is probably why my screenshots look big. I'll see if I can hack the user profile template to do something about it.

I'm having a bit of trouble with making new posts or threads...

That would be caused by your images not being in the right directory.

Thanks Mikey... I ended up fixing that one. It was actually because i set the default vB style as the parent for the SimpleBlue. Something to that effect anyway.

I got 3 more issues...

First... I'm having trouble with Google Chrome & IE and some of the icons not showing up. Works fine with Firefox though.

Right, That seems to be also a lack of the images. It seems to be calling the "images/icons" folder, which looks like its empty, from your forum setup, it looks like the images you need are in vB/images/icons

heres what you should do, move the vB/images/icons to images/icons on your server. Do the same with your vB/images/smilies (move it to images/smilies)

Etc, just don't modify any of the folders included in the 'simpleblue' file.

You could do the same with your vB/images/avatars, vB/images/ranks, and vB/images/polls, vB/images/rating, vB/images/regimage

just move them all to /images/ (remove the vB)

then tell me if it works

EDIT: OR you can go into the style manager, and where it says images/icons, change it to vB/images/icons, and with all the above listed.

I was thinking of the hard way round -_-
