I'd be wary using this.

No offenece to the coder but look here.

http://www.vbulletin.com/forum/showthread.php?t=304827

Is there anyway it can be used with Adbright or other Ad companies as I've completely lost faith in Adsense since this happened to me and other members.

It shouldn't be too difficult to modify the code. I might have a go myself.

I read about something like this and was not the cause of this, as Google Adsense started letting it get bundled into programs etc.

I know there was a rule that you could have only 3 on a page at a time, would break rules if you had more than 3. They wont even let more than 3 show now and this mod doesnt go around their code so should be no worrys.

Also it isnt hard to modify as you wouldnt have to modify to put a banner or another companies code.

The code is what Google Adsense or another company gives you, you post that into a input field in admincp.

I guess it could be named something else as it can be used for more than just Google Adsense. Look in the admincp picture if you need to see about how the code is inputted.

Nice mod! Couple questions:

1) If I tell it to put a postbit ad after every 1st post (i.e., enter "1" in the After Post # field) it will show an ad after post 1 and post 11. If I enter 2, it shows it in post 2 and 12. The problem with this is that it uses up Google's maximum 3 ads rule and then it doesn't show the ad I have above the footer. Can this be fixed? You can see an example at: http://truestreetcars.com/forums/pic...down-tree.html

2) Also, how do I tell it to show an ad after the last post? Since I don't know what the number of the last post will be...

Will look into why it put them in the x1 or x2's unless it has to do with how many posts per page, will look into it.

Will add an option for the before last post/after last post in next update.

R1chardYoung 04-29-2009 01:12 PM

Have installed - very simple to use.

Have only got 1 advert running above the footer. However,if I disable Google Search that footer CONTENT advert does not appear.

It works all right. I inserted the code myself for a 728 x 90 banner INTO the header, so this appears at the very top of my forum, "manually."

Then I am using this hack to put a 468 x 60 after the first post of every thread. I experimented with additionally adding a small square on the very last post of each thread, but seemed too obtrusive.

What I can't figure it is how the Google Search thing works. I enter a search term into it and nothing seems to happen. I am wondering if the search terms are supposed to appear in the header and are being blocked by the code I manually entered for the banner ad.

Or maybe I am creating the code for the Google search improperly - I want it to search just my website. Anyway I am playing with that function.

Based on what I am reading above - seems that maybe this hack's "Google Search" Function interferes with any adwords in the header, and vice versa.

Nice work, thanks

THE__DRIFTER 07-11-2009 04:33 AM

I want to thank you for this. Unfortunately for what ever reason we have met with the same fate as many others. I have removed the mod, banned all access by Google from our website and sent notification on to people that will review and prosecute. Any involvement with Google in our community has ceased. It is not the fault of the mod I don't think; It is Google. I have removed and deleted all accounts using their systems. Good luck on this.

positiverep 07-11-2009 04:15 PM

Just installed the mod and it's easy to use, but I have a box overflow problem in all browsers. Wondering if anybody can point me in the right direction to fix it: You can see it at the bottom of the page here http://www.going2college.com/forum.
It's a css problem - I have wrapped the Adsense code in a class called .bannerad and turned off the overflow with the following css to no avail:
Code:

width: 730px;
        height: 90px;
        background: none;
background-color: transparent;
overflow: hidden;
    overflow-x: hidden;
overflow-y: hidden;
padding: 0;
margin: 0;
margin-top: -10px;
z-index: -100;

barcena 07-13-2009 08:07 PM

I will like to install this mod very much but I'm scared that I will have any problems with Google Adsense.

Is there a way they take it as a sort a trick or something?

No offense to the author but I just wanted to be 100% sure.

GearX1 07-15-2009 02:25 PM

wow this is so awesome thanks

fortforum 07-22-2009 11:08 AM

Shit man,

this is just such a lightweight and nicely installed hack. Perfect. This should definately be included in the vb soursecode. Perfect controll, this is all we need.

Thanx for sharing.

Suicide BULLET 09-15-2009 08:50 AM

akvanusya 11-25-2009 09:19 PM

Cool Dog 08-26-2010 05:10 PM

I like this very much... I was getting a weird bug with the other adsense plugin, but this one works fine

need2fart 10-01-2010 04:42 PM

When I select the usergroups who can view it, I took out our paid usergroup, yet they still see ads? Why? They are exempt from viewing the ads according to the hack, yet they still see it.

Does this not work for additional usergroups? Because their primary is the paid group, which shouldn't see ads. They are additionally the free usergroup, which displays the usergroup post count titles. So, how can I fix it so they don't see ads?

Cla75 12-19-2010 11:32 AM

you can exclude the view of this mod in vBadvanced CMPS v3.2.2

Karm4 12-20-2010 08:20 PM

I want to use this with adbrite as i was randomly disabled on Google Adsense for no reason whatsoever. Can anyone tell me where i need to put the code on what pages to modify this to work as if it was adsense?

Wonksta 07-12-2011 10:06 AM

I have found an incompatibility with the Live Topic Modwhen "Google Adsense for Content (Postbit (2)" is enabled.

It's a real damn shame because that particular Adsense block receives a lot of clicks. Is there anybody out there who would be able to figure out what is breaking the Live Topic mod when "Google Adsense for Content (Postbit (2)" is enabled on this mod?
