What is Tapatalk?

Tapatalk is a vBulletin mod that allows your users to browse your forum using a native mobile application. Tapatalk supports iPhone, Android, BlackBerry, webOS and Windows Phone 7. It provides super-fast access to your forum and allows your members to participate more in your forum while on the go.

Installation Instruction:

Installation is easy. It does not change any of your forum settings or overwrite any
of your existing forum code and configuration. Simply follow the procedure below:

Step 1

Create yourself an account at http://www.tapatalk.com/plugin.php. Once you have logged in
to the website, you can download the largest version. If you are not sure you are
using the latest version. Download a new one from
http://www.tapatalk.com/download.php. You can follow the rest of the instruction
from tapatalk.com onward if you want. Otherwise read on:

Step 2

Upload the zip package at the root of your forum system.
Unzip the package. You should see a directory called "mobiquo" inside your forum
system root directory. For example, if your forum URL is http://www.mysite.com/forum,
it should be placed at http://www.mysite.com/forum/mobiquo/.


Step 3

Login to Administration Control Panel (admincp) in your server.
Choose "Style Manager" under "Styles and Templates".
Choose "Edit Template" in your current template.
Click "Edit" in your current template
Choose "headinclude" in the list, click "Edit"
At the bottom of the editor, insert the following line:

Click "Save".


Step 4

Visit http://www.tapatalk.com/addforum.php to enter your forum URL and upload you forum
logo there. It will allow end-user to find his way to your forum using the Tapatalk
app.

Step 5

Visit http://www.tapatalk.com/manageforum.php to confirm the setup so you can select
whether you want to publish your site to the public listing or you want to set it up
so it is complete private to other end users.

A great app but it's worthless until you release the full app to post and reply...

Ditto! I'm not going to waste my time with it until this option is available.

I don't mind paying a few $'s for it once it's released and actually functioning correctly.

does it support groups and groups disscusiions?
also albums?

I have been waiting quite a while and it looks good. I can't wait until its released!

Interested as well as many of our users or iPhone crack heads (including myself) and would love to have the app for the phone. Full featured one would be the one we'd recommend.

the iphone will be free to download, we plan to charge a fee to forum owner so their members can access it from iphone. we will announce detail information shortly.

I haven't been able to sync the app to my iphone.

Error message says something about couldn't verify the app.

Anyone else have this issue?

I'm using iTunes for Windows.

Well this is bittersweet... on one hand this is the most incredible thing i've seen and i can't wait try it out. on the other hand, a friend and i were planning the same thing once the latest app gets released and there's time to start something new. anyway... it's installed - email on the way to you.

Perfect Mod, we are already in with the BETA and I got the adhoc build. Really cool stuff, as the source of iphone hacking, this is exactly what we need for our users ;)

In terms of the performance and scalability it would be along the line with your existing vbulletin setup. And yes it is compatible with iPod Touch, even the first gen (which we have one as testing device)

This is work in progress.

I assume there will eventually be a charge for the "full" version. Any idea what the price is going to be? (even if its ballpark)

I would also like to add a device to the list of ones to support.... and that would be the palm pre.

From what I've read in this thread, the iPhone App will be free for users, but the forum owner will have to pay a fee to become part of the network and get listed in the App as a site to click on.

I do wonder if this will be expensive, and/or if it is a one time charge or subscription based. I'm testing this out on two sites right now, as I am sure others are doing too, so it could become costly pretty quick.

As for the App, I've encountered some bugs, and I've reported them and have been told that they are researching the problems.

For those of you who are already complaining that its not full featured, why don't you wait until this is officially release and not in BETA stage before you start whining, this development team is creating this from scratch, and things don't happen overnight.

I thought commercial mod's were not allowed here, sure the app may be free but it's useless without the connection if I'm understanding this, so it's basically a snare trapping people into having to pay a fee for the app to even function, just my view on this but in essence this is a commercial mod masquerading as a free application.

Hey is just getting the word out, when it comes time to release the full version, it will be a pay thing and you won't see it on here. He is only trying to gather a following of people willing to pay, then once that is done he will release the full version and start charging people, based on the feedback on this thread it will most likely dictate the price he charges as well.

Smart marketing... but still not inline with my morals.
