RadioActivity for vbExperience
1 Attachment(s)
This is my first "plugin" for vB I am publishing here. This is extension to vbExperience It allows to deduct vBExperience points based on Activity. In fact this add-on multiplies points for posts and points for threads by activity. So, persons not active are getting less points and are ranked lower. It makes vbExperience more dynamic.
How to use it? Install it as product (load attached XML as a product in ACP). If it is enabled, will deduct points from Experience users. For immediate effect you will have to recount. Checked with vbExperience 3.8.1 and vB 3.8.1, but should work with older versions too. Please report. Here you can see "live demo" of this mod Olympuslcub.pl |
Good MOD, Thank you....
installed |
Great, thanks for sharing.

Will copy it here:

e.g. If you have users A and B with A:100 and B:50 points for posts, but user B has activity 100% and user A activity 30% User A will get 100*30% points for posts -> 30 User B will get 50*100% points for posts -> 50 So user B will rank higher. If user A will start to be more active, will write posts and will create new threads, he will soon outperform user B, but... will have to be active, to stay on top. And your rankings will change every day. Regards |
Thanks Installed

OK installed :p
|
Would you like to have option to choose how agressive point reduction should be?
Regards |
Pretty nice.

A possibility would be to reduce the points where also the awards are active. Maybe let the user decide which point column should be reduced.

Will code plugin with option to chose which category of points to deduct and will create some different deduction functions, but need some time to code it.
At this point I just added factor reduction to all components too (should write reduced values to database). KURTZ, please test attached upgrade. If it works (works for my forum), will update main post. |
KURTZ, do recount after installation.
|
After enabling this addon, and disabling it, my forum error, it shows
Parse error: syntax error, unexpected '.' in /home/aoi/aoindonesia.net/includes/functions.php(1139) : eval()'d code on line 14 |
Maybe you have disabled it during recount?
|
Any chance for an update ? :)
Thx in advance ! |
Is everything ok, with vbexperience 3.8.4 rc?
I mean, activity stuff has changed. I don't know how exactly but, ... why don't you take a look at new experience version changes? Regards :) |
I was just introduced to this. Is it still being supported/updated? It sounds useful for inactive members. Does it also reduce so members are remove from group promotion?
TIA |
Don't know man, maybe we should visit his web site and try to catch him there. :s
|
That mod still works with vBExperience 3.8.3 and 3.8.4. Yes, it reduces points so that group promotions are active.

Installed this (Plugin is active), did a recount and a user with an activity of 0% (inactive 4 months) was awarded the Frequent Poster award. Any suggestions?

I saw someone asking for an update with no response so am I to assume that we should not download this if we are using xperience the Best point system in the game! THanks |
I am waiting for new version of Xperience. Phalynx is alive, so not too long it will take (I hope).

I am currently using 3.8 and due to the mods not all being ready I suppose I will have to wait another month or two before I can change.. Would you use this mod on a 3.8 board currently? Thanks again for your support and reply! |
I am using vBXperience on 3.8 currently. See http://forum.olympusclub.pl/xperience.php but in fact it is not latest development version.

I dont want to enable it until it is less aggresive. :) Thanks |
Unfortunatelly, it doesn't work in vBulletin 4.x...
|
I installed this and it is indeed installed, but I do not find it anywhere in options, or anywhere in vB Experience settings.
Where is it? |
Apparently nowhere. This mod seems abandoned. Lots of questions, no answers.
