A really great mod that used to exist was the iTrader which is currently in the Modification Graveyard. It would be awesome if someone continued or completely remade it using the same principals.

Although it looks like they've turned it off for invites only.

Is anyone running it on 3.8.1?

Does it break any rules to pass the files on to you? I have iTrader 2.1. interim release.

You may not post the modification here. The author removed it and I haven't heard that he has passed permission on to anyone to carry on the project. Someone should PM him if that is the intent.

I am only familiar with the fact that I was the one to move it to the Graveyard after someone else pointed out to me that the files were removed. That is all I know about it.

Please do not use vB.org to discuss the functions of another site.

You need to ask them about that. I used the one I downloaded from here before they Graveyarded it.

Loosen up, chap. You don't want to alienate your members, else they will clear off to other competing sites.

Hum, please, people, my site is not opened to public yet, and the releases are not public either, and you break at least 2 rules from vb.org by posting the links to my site, as i did not advertise it myself...

For websites which have classified adverts (we have nearly 9,000 active ones right now), iTrader is a very important mod. With over 480 installs, I would imagine that there are a lot of people wanting information about what is happening with it rather urgently. So apologies to the vB.org mods who might not like discussion about another website, but for folks like me who needs this mod updated yesterday, it's rather important.

We use iTrader a lot on our forum, for the classifieds section. It has definately been handy to know who you are dealing with.

Seeking it or a similar solution myself.

I am still using iTrader on vb 3.8.1 installed it when it first became available and has continued to work great. Would be good if someone took over it and maybe updated it and maybe added some features. :up:

I still have the files iTrader 2.1.0 should anyone need them. :)

x2, a release for 4.0 would be a blessing.

problem with blessings is that they are given by god when you make prayers... the opposite with codes is that a prayer will not give you access to anything...

though, the possibility to update iTrader for vB 4.0 was put on the table lately, we're actually collecting possible financing for a pro version of a 4.0 iTrader... but no chance so far.

I would pay for a pro version of iTrader. But not for version 4. Only an idiot would upgrade to vB4 right now (or in the near future).
So I'd be interested in a 3.8.x version only. :up:

i'm all with you on the 4.0 version, but not about the idiot... people may need it even if you don't... ;)

the pro version was called 3.0, and had paid addons for it, which were not obligatory to run the script... if i have enough clients for it, i could write it now, but as life is not free, i need to make sure people will need it.

Doesn't matter how much people think they need version 4, it has over a thousand bugs in it, it offers very little over 3.8.x and the company selling it are completely incompetent.
I don't believe *anyone* needs version 4. We are running 3.8 and our forum is a success.

I think you'd have quite a few 3.8 clients for iTrader.
It would be nice if you produced a pro version of it, but if you don't, I will be paying someone to write it for us.

Well I had kinda thought that but I have a whole bunch of modifications I need doing to our forum including a completely new style.
One is a modification to our classified forums to make them work somewhat like www.gumtree.com which is a hell of a lot of work. The iTrader functionality would be part of that providing a better overall trading environment.
