About this add-on:
This hack find the advanced options to prevent copies of the topics easily - which I mean source code not easily way to copy threads - This hack leaves several disrupt things in the face when visitor wants copies topic - see characteristics.


why this mod:
may someone wondering why this hack? because it work only if javascript is enabled. so if any one disable javascript he/she will able to do every things this hack may prevent from them. every one want to use this have a reason, I guess you have an answer for this. :)

I really agree to not to insult human intelligence. Its never a good idea to fight with your users but I need to protect my content from kids?! beleive me! my society have many kids which they competing which one of them will steal new topics first. this hack helped me more than I expected.


characteristics:

• main options: Attachment 95523
  • prevent members you want them unable to copy texts.
  • prevent groups you want them unable to copy texts.
  • prevent newbies from quoting before x posts.
  • exclude or add forums from shading and selecting text.
• data protection options:
  • disable right click visitor will be prohibited to right click on text, graphics and links.
  • disable off-line page viewing vistor cannot view the webpage in offline status.
  • disable page printing, when printing the content of web page will be automatically hidden.
• prevent browsers options: Attachment 95524
  • prevent opera browser
  • prevent Mozilla firefox browser
  • prevent Apple safari browser
  • prevent Microsoft Internet Explorer browser
• meta tags options:
  • disable image toolbar
  • disable page caching
  • disable smart tags
  • disable search engine robots
• other features:
  • forcing to use Javascript, some intelligent people disable JavaScript in his browser and easily copies text. I do a meta refresh to redirect people not using JavaScript to page that tell them they need to activate it. this also by the way can be overmaster by someone. Attachment 95521
  • message to show to users who are prevented from using right-click. Attachment 95525
  • this hack work on 5 places: showtheard, printtheard, archive, showpost, and newreply templates.
  • we cannot completely prevent the visitors from copies if we want search engines archiving our sites, but if we cover up and hide entire text from visitors... this shortcoming will reduce the number of visitors and search spiders expelled completely and reduce archiving. so many of sites take off from the way that hide links and topics and start to think in prevent copying.

Installation:
Import XML file (as product): AdminCP > Plugin System > Manage Products > [Add/Import Product]

I think not, if you have js cods in your page that not mean Search Engines will stop vist you! also js codes are located in head section which I expect to find more than one script code there without any problems. probably yes your site will start throw out reborts if you turn on no indexing meta tag. but if you insets to say that search engines cannot index site content because js I will dunning you for a good reason just for helping me to realize your idea.

I believe not, until one give me a very specific understood why this will affected SEO if meta tags not enabled? convince me why you think that :)

In addition, I use this mod with vbseo and seems work great. also this will not encrypt you source code in any case ..

Hi,

thank you for this great mod.
but there is one problem that I think you forgot it :D
when user clicks on the "Quote" button, he/she will see the page with some warning message on top of it :
attention: you cannot quote post, admins prevent you from quotes
but a little down in the page that he will see this attention, he can see whole topic and all posts in the topic and have permission to copy and etc ...
can you fix this please ?

what about if I ask you to test it and give me a content of a page without going to source code.

check your options:
- maybe your user id or your group id not in option of this mode
- or the right click option isn't set to yes.
- or you are in wrong place (this mod prevent only in showthread, printthread, archive and showpost pages)

I already test it will all 5 standerd browsers and work with no errors
so guys if you want to test it I will be happy to know you results
