Question for the ladies
Excuse the sexist title, I'm sure some of you gentleman will have some ideas too :)
I have some pink lip gloss stains on my jeans (it's not what you think) and I need to get them out. I have read articles online about getting lip gloss off jeans which is normally transparent, using WD40, mechanical grease remover but this stain has colour, so I'm stumped how to get it out. I've washed them twice and it's not even made a difference :( |

Did you by any chance received these jeans from your girlfriend/wife and she expects them NOT to disappear? :D |
easy... paint!
apply a coat of paint by error on the spot, and tell your wife that you were cleaning the garage when you stumbled upon an old can of paint that was badly closed... btw, you would pay 150$ for a "painted jean" in a boutique now, as it's MODE! [observation] men are more aware of these tricks than ladies! |
Hi Dean
It is very hard to remove stains after they have been washed and dried, but you can try these solutions. You can try some hairspray, just douse the area well and rub hard with a bar of soap then wash. Another method is to blot the area with a little ISOPROPANOL alcohol. (From Chemist) Or you can dab with baking soda and lemon juice. One of them should work ;) |
Fire will without a doubt get rid of the stain. That'll get rid of the jeans too though so it might not be a suitable solution.

Thanks for the useful input UKBusinessLive :) I'll give hairspray a try later. I'd read about that one too. And honestly there is an innocent explanation for this!

/me wait for the innocent...

Red stains are very difficult (if not impossible) to remove. This is what I use

Dean, I didn't read this whole thread so I'm not sure if you have gotten the stain out or not.. if not, this might be worth a shot -- It worked for me with some stained candle wax and my carpet..
Assuming that lip gloss is like chapstick (Being an oily / waxy substance?), Get a paper bag like from the grocery store, put it over the stain, and iron it.. The iron should heat it up and the bag should absorb a lot, if not all of the gloss. : shrug : Worth a shot, I guess. |
Thanks for the suggestion Tyler! However, I got most of the stain out yesterday. I first sprayed the stain with hair spray, then rubbed lots and lots of soap into the stain. I kept adding water so that the soap was frothy and I rubbed and rubbed for at least 5 minutes on each stain, whilst occasionally spraying on more hairspray. I then rinsed the areas and I'd say 90% of the stain is gone :D

well next time have her wipe the lipgloss off her lips ...
