Thanks.

Using Akismet now :)

I am also using 3.8.1 with Akismet.
Akismet's working great for just 2 days, after that it doesn't catch the spam any more.
I am now shutting down my forum for future solution. Does anyone know a good solution that I can help me fight the spam?
thanks a lot

A better strategy is to block them from registering in the first place

admincp > vbulletin options > human verification manager

use the question/answer option, and make up a few questions that will stump the bots, but a human can answer easily

I always use reCapcha and have no problem with SPAM trying to register. The main problem that I am facing now is those SPAM trying bomb my site with tons of spam using many existing registered usernames.
I am using Akismet, but they have missed lots of spam.
Akismet is my last HOPE, but now it bypass it easily.
Do you have other solutions?
SPAM looks like this

I'm a fan of the nospam mod that the guest have to answer a question to sign up

What I do is moderate the first 5 posts of a user. This way you can filter out almost every spammer. Also, if a new user isn't too sure what they are doing you can correct the thread before it goes public.

That just what I do though, some people perfer other methods.

Make sure you read the announcement on vB.com which details some steps on how to prevent spam.

That is not a really effective solution for a large board.
