He is alive... just busy in the 'real world' with not a lot of free time for being online these days.

Allan 02-17-2009 07:30 PM

ho great, thanks for this hack !!

pein87 02-17-2009 08:48 PM

I have a question what makes this better then ibproarcade for 3.8.x? I`ll give it a shot mate thanks for the release of this Ill click install but test it first to compare the two. Thanks again.

Mukashi 02-17-2009 09:46 PM

Well, this is certainly an unexpected development. I doubt I'll be switching back from ibproarcade in the near future, simply because there doesn't seem to be a clear converter here yet to move everything back over (at least not for the current version anyway, since the import script linked above is from 2005), but I'll certainly be taking a good long look at this in future, especially now knowing that Brian/Tigga has his hands in this.

Ryuk 02-18-2009 01:10 AM

im also wondering the difference between iBProArcade to v3arcade

kevinfx 02-18-2009 01:23 AM

What game(s) are you trying to import (v3A games, IBP V2 games, or IPB V32 games)?

kevinfx 02-18-2009 01:45 AM

i think they are IBP

pein87 02-18-2009 01:54 AM

KW802 does vbarcade support iproarcade games or lets say someone elses games? If so to your own games whats the requirements for cooding games for your system and if no to iproaracde games would you be willing to give info on how to convert the games so they work on you system? i havented tested it since I`m in class.

If they IBP v32 games then the current version does not yet support those games. IBP v32 compatibility is on the short list of items to work on (what I'm working on tonight actually). If it is a standard v3 Arcade game or IBP v2 game then they should work fine.

For v3 Arcade games, check here. for IBP games, you'll need to search the net for the needed code.

Brakkish 02-18-2009 03:52 AM

Wow - easy as pie to install. I've only been using VB for about a week now, this was simple.

After reading all the clutter and things to do when installing the "other" developers arcade version I was a bit sad. I'm glad I did another search and found this! Had it installed in less than 5 minutes. Thanks!!

Are you meaning to say I need to extract each file from their folders and place them manually in the directories?

... download the zip file.

... unzip the file on your local hard drive.

... in the spot where you unzipped the file, you'll see a folder named "files".

... upload everything in the "files" folder (a file named arcade.php along with several folders) to the same folder on your server where you have vBulletin installed (typically "forums" or similar).

... Import the "product-v3arcade.xml" file into vBulletin (ACP => Plugins & Products => Manage Products => Add/Import Product)

... Go into your user groups and set their permissions to the arcade (ACP => Usergrouips => Usergroup Manager => {name of group} Edit => Arcade Permissions)

... Have fun. :)

(Note... you should not try to install multiple arcade prodcuts on the same instance of vBulletin unless you have modified one or other to avoid any conflicts.)

Hornstar 02-18-2009 05:03 AM

Nice to see this back in action :)

Cant wait, the v32 games do run but wont submit score.

KW802 02-18-2009 11:33 AM

@Cheech47: Were you running the old vB 3.0.x version before? You should not be running that import script unless you were running a version of v3 Arcade that was running on vBulletin 3.0.x before.

@Goxy63: No, not on the radar at this time. We need to get the basic functionality updated first.

Phooey 02-18-2009 11:42 AM

Awesome.

/installs

paintballer.ie 02-18-2009 11:56 AM

The question is still answered, whats the difference is the two arcades?

Deriel 02-18-2009 12:24 PM

I'm truly interested :)

But I would like to know:
a) the differences between the two systems (like everybody else)
b) Is there any intention to make a converter?

Amadeus Cho 02-18-2009 12:57 PM

Hi,

I get the following error:

Warning: require_once([path]/includes/class_database_analyse.php) [function.require-once]: failed to open stream: No such file or directory in [path]/admincp/plugin.php(1995) : eval()'d code on line 3

Fatal error: require_once() [function.require]: Failed opening required '/home/*****/******/forum/includes/class_database_analyse.php' (include_path='.:/usr/lib/php:/usr/local/lib/php') in /home/*****/*****/forum/admincp/plugin.php(1995) : eval()'d code on line 3

What am I doing wrong ? :)

Thanks in advance

does that mean this is should be a BETA version?

i am happy to see this mod back up and being worked on. i was a v3arcade user for a long time, but you know, as the forum advanced, the arcade didnt go with it, so i had to convert over to the other system.

you have a lot of grounds to cover to catch up to the ibp mod, and im sure you will get there. good luck.

KW802 02-18-2009 01:50 PM

For those looking detailed answer as to the differences between the two... they are simply two different arcade systems, not much more can be said than that. If you go through the various prior versions of both arcades here on vB.org, you can see the history of both. Both arcades have been around for a number of years, and both have switched hands over that course of time, both do the same basic functions but the fundamental programming behind them are drastically different.

@Deriel: Until we get IBP v32 game compatibility fully tested & released, we're holding off on an updated official converter script.

sensimilla 02-18-2009 01:52 PM

v3arcade is the best arcade system for vbulletin, it has been designed for vbulletin not like the other system which has ben originally created for Invision Board if im correct... v3Arcade has also much better design then the other one.. Ive been waiting for updates on all my sites and its great news!

No, the 1.0.8 is not a beta. We released it now at this point to get the security token error taken care of for people running the latest versions of vB and to start introducing some new changes slowly. After we re-opened the site there was some good feedback from people in regards to what they'd like to see added in future revisions. That feedback, along with pouring through the various threads before the site went on hiatus status, will be used to determine what the next round of features to be added will be. v32 compatibility is one of the items ranked high on that list.

KW802 02-18-2009 01:56 PM

@Amadeus: What version of vB are you installing that on?

rapidphim 02-18-2009 02:15 PM

any pre-install games with this package or you have to add game for yourself? Also, how can I test the system, when you required some reputation to start off????

Yes, there are some standard games that come with it. Not sure what you mean about the "required some reputation" part.

rapidphim 02-18-2009 03:03 PM

When I tried to playing game at your site, it required me to have some reputation. Other than just see how it laying out, I am not able to test as a guest player.
