2.- Installation

1. Upload all files and directories including at "vbulletin" directory to the directory where vBulletin is installed.
2. CMOD the following directories to 777
   1. /photos (inside classifieds directory)
   2. /tmp (inside classifieds/photos directory)
   3. /thumbs (inside classifieds/photos directory)
3. For security reasons backup your database AND turn your board off
4. Check at your AdminCP->vBulletin Options->Plugin/Hook System that Plugin system is enabled.
5. From your AdminCP->Plugin System->Manage Products choose Add/Import Product and import the product: product_classifieds.xml
6. If you want to add a link to your nav bar then you must edit the NAVBAR template:
   Search For:
   Code:
   <td class="vbmenu_control"><a href="calendar.php$session[sessionurl_q]">$vbphrase[calendar]</a></td>
   Add Below:
   Code:
   <td class="vbmenu_control"><a href="classifieds.php$session[sessionurl_q]">Classifieds</a></td>
   ....or use any other word you want
7. By default none usergroup has permissions to use vbfclassifieds, so you need to give permissions to any group. Goto AdminCP->Usergroups->Usergroup Manager and edit any usergroup you like to give permissions.
8. If you've installed vbSEO, Login into vbSEO Control Panel, click "Custom Rewrite Rules", insert rewrite rules (attached in vbseo-rules.txt to not lose formatting) and save settings.

What makes an ad premium or sponsored?

keeps telling me i dont have permission to upload a picture, yet i gave all permissions...any ideas?

Anyway to have more options than just paypal when you click Buy it? If someone doesn't enter a PayPal address then it gives an error message from paypal

Currently it support vbcredits for posting ads (and vb points too). Please note that it's difficult for maintance if I've to follow up any updates of other modules. vB itself has enought updates to follow.

Got around to installing this tonite, One issue I've had is when you click the Classifieds link it opens with the default VB style.
Kind of odd since I have the forum set up to only use one style and not the default.
Any ideas what causes that?

Please be more specific. Where are you getting the blank page? At admincp, at frontend? If in Frontend where exactly? In the main page...or somewhere else?

Soz. I'm getting a blank page at /classifieds.php with nothing at all on it except white. No error messages anywhere. Admin backend for the mod is working fine, as is the usergroup permissions.

Im running firefox 3.0.6 but am getting the same issue on ie7.

I followed the install directions to the letter.

I was getting a blank page using the custom rewrite rules in vbseo. Removing them makes it worth so i guess theres a problem there

I still don't understand how an advert is Premium or Sponsored. I guess if the category has a price on it it will be a sponsored ad? What conditions make a premium ad?

An Ad becomes Premium or Sponsored according to usergroup permissions. eg you can setup Registered user to have 0 Premium and 0 Sponsored, while you can setup a usergroup xxx which can has 1 or xx Premium and 0 Sponsored etc.
This way you can setup many different usergroups and assign to them paid subscriptions.

If a usergroup is set to have 1 sponsored and 1 premium classified, the first ad they place will be a sporsored ad? If they place another ad the first one will become a premium and the new one a sponsored? If a third ad is placed the original oldest) ad will now become a normal advert?

Okay, I'm getting a black page on the main classifieds.php page. When I disable the custom rules in vbSEO, then it works.

I'm running 3.8.1 with vbSEO 3.2.0

That's correct. Also note that there is an important option in Classifieds->Options (AdminCP). To allow or not a user to change the title. This is to avoid users to pay for one Ad and then (with the same money) to change it to another one.
If you're running a Free Classifieds site you can turn it On (Allow changes), otherwise let it Off.

I had the same problem so I removed just the first line of the rewrite rules and now it works.

Instead to remove the first line, could you please try to change it to:
and tell me if it works?... Seems that that '/' at the end is a typo.

Nope, still not working

I'd also like to note that im not running vbseo at all, but im getting the blank screen on /classifieds.php at install.

In this case, I think that I'll remove vbseo rules from the package. I'm not familiar with them and the only reason that I added them is because I know that many members wanted to have them. I paid (a lot I can say) money to someone to write them. Is not bad to admit that I don't know even how vbseo works in the site. I prefer to continue with my own code which I can support.

You should contact VBSEO they are really good over there at helping get the re-write rules working correctly.
