vBulletin.org smilie/emotion suggestion thread

Once in a while we get the request to add more smilies to vBulletin.org. We do not want to be adding a single smilie after each request, but we would like suggestions from our members on the emotions they want to express for which there currently is no smilie present.

This project will run in 2 stages:
- First stage (this thread) will allow members to suggest missing emotions.
- Staff will make a selection from the suggested emotions and will start a new thread where members can submit their smilie-packs to cover these emotions,

Rules for stage 1:
- Each member may submit up to 3 emotions that he/she feels are currently not covered by our smilies. Multiple members may suggest the same emotion.
- A short description for each emotion must be added, unless the emotion itself is self-explanatory.
- Each member is allowed only 1 post in this thread.
- No discussions. Post that does not fit all requirements will be removed without warning.
- Please do not submit/post any smilies at this stage.

Stage 1 of this project will run until Feb 28th.

Currently we use the following list of emotions:
  • Smile
  • Big Grin
  • Frown
  • Mad
  • Embarrassment
  • Confused
  • Stick Out Tongue
  • Roll Eyes (Sarcastic)
  • Eek!
  • Cool
  • Wink
  • Erm
  • Thumbs Up
  • Thumbs Down

first post?! cool....

(cry)
(bang head up against wall in frustration) :wall:
(w00t! pysched!) :woot:

(will we be able to edit this later if we change our mind?)

Marco van Herwaarden 02-11-2009 08:56 AM

Please do not submit smilies at this stage, only the emotions you feel are missing.

You can edit your post until we close submissions.

GSeybold 02-11-2009 09:09 AM

Err. a combo of frustrated/angry. I have the best smilie for that. simple but says a lot. LOL great for newbie knobs like me.

MIA (missing in action: saying the coder is absent for a while, or something)
OOC (Out of Control: saying i'm going nuts with these codes - too complicated)
TGIF...

... and the question for everybody... what do we win at the end?! our name in the smilies legend?

ROFL!

edit: with all the requests for a "nonex" smiley, i would second it... you will be forced to have it, and this will be a proof that you can not live without me...

Basically, it's a smiley that does everything. Describing the act of being kidding, being an ass... It is the perfect smiley, and I am insulted that more boards don't use it. WAKKA WAKKA WAKKA!!! https://vborg.vbsupport.ru/

Hmmm... I'll suggest a chill out emoticon.

Also a shrug shoulders one that could interpreted as 'I don't know' or 'Oh well'

Also woot! Gotta have woot!

TigerC10 02-12-2009 02:01 AM

I'd like an "irritated" emoticon, one that looks off to one side in annoyance.

wickedstangs 02-12-2009 03:32 AM
