Maximum New Threads & Replies per Usergroup per x-Hours
 

Description:
Control Maximum Number of New Threads and/or Reply allowed per Usergroup and Forum per defined time (in hours).

Info:
Plugins: 4
Phrases: 7

Install:

1. Import Product via Manage Products
ACP >> Plugins & Products >> Manage Products >> [Add/Import Product]

2. Settings:
ACP >> Usergroups >> Usergroup Manager >> Group >> GO >> Maximum New Threads & Replies Settings

What will happen if all 4 fields are 0?

I guess this could work for limiting posts per month? just set the number of hours to 720 (30 days x 24 hours) and say 100 posts so thats all they can make in a month?

then if i leave the threads at 0 does that mean they can create as many threads as they like? and does that go againts the 100 posts in 720 hours?

can you let me know if my above post would work with this mod?

or you could just let me know if that would work with your mod or not rather than me having to install and dink around waiting for 30 days to see if it's actually going to work.

1 month = 30 days * 24 hours = 720 hours.

Time is too long to test, but i believe it works!

so i installed this and it doesn't seem to work.....

i set it to limit a certain group to 30 threads and 60 replies per 720 hours (month).... and it wont let anyone in that group reply to any threads......

i think im going to have to uninstall this......support seems non-existant... cant get an answer for my simple question......

I need something like this but by forum section instead of by usergroup - and then the option of what usergroups to apply the limitation to. Anybody have any ideas/suggestions?

nice would have used this a while ago. this is good for brand new members to restrict for a couple days.

I had a curious result with this. I installed the plugin, and set the params to 1 thread/24 hours and 10 replies/24 hours for a user group.

I then moved a single user into that usergroup and managed to post 2 new threads and 11 replies. I assumed the plugin wasn't working.

I've just tried it again though, several hours after doing as described above, and I was not able to post either a new thread or a new reply - implying it has actually worked.

I tried using the 3.7 Throttle Threads/Posts and its a no go. I'd like to limit thread creation in some subforums indefinitely but havent been able to find a solution.

Hummm... I'm using vB v3.6.12 and its working very well.

Have you tested with a ridiculous number for the time? (I have my Throttle time set to 999999! :p )

That's exactly what I planned on doing, but I think I should clarify, I tried using the mod made for 3.7 under my board which is at 3.8.2 and had no luck. Was hoping this would work, but I need to be able to assign only specific forums/subforums to be throttled.
