Anyone try OpenInviter to import contacts into vbulletin?
 

Its free and comes with a vB plugin. Does it work with vB 3.8.1?

I cant see why not, googled it and it was the php program winner for Nov 2008. It even notify's your friends on every majof social network. It looks too good to be true. Its like a godsend...lol

I just want to make sure that I would not be signing my members and their contacts up for a load of spam.

I got an email from openinviter saying that there was a problem with the plugin, which should be fixed now. I did not try it though.

Okay so I installed this thing on my 3.8.1 VB. Now what? How do you get this thing to work? I created a new user account but it didn't redirect me to invite my friends. How exactly do you invite your friends???

this program is not for inviting your friend to join the site, is just for importing your friends emails contacts from websites as hotmail and so on, so with this you will be able to invite them

i mean is not a invitation stuff for when u register

This stuff is working with VB 3.8.1.. Install it and open yourdomain.com/index.php?oi=true

Then you'll see OpenInviter working! But a lot of customizations is needed!
I'm a php noob! If anyone know how to add referral url of member into the email that would be appreciated!

I use OpenInviter with one of my PhpBB forum which brought me more than 100 member in less than 20 days!

Just installed it under 3.8.2 and its working fine. The install puts a link under "Quick Links" so its kind of hidden.

I tried installing it but it wont load. It just loads the index page. Anyone know a fix for this. I searched their site and have emailed the main guy asking for help.

Found the fix. It is missing this(echo $oi_display;) at the bottom before the php close tag(i.e. ?>) of the frontend.php file.

For anyone that has this installed there is a huge exploit for the vb version. Till I talk with the guy who made this I will not release any info about it.

I downloaded the plugin and it came as openinviter.tar.gz , and I didn't know what to do from there. Do you know where i should upload the plugin to on the server? That is the only file that was downloaded, when I clicked the download button
