Custom Link Checker Bot 1.0

I have decided to code my own link checker bot.

This link Checker Checks links from....
  • Rapidshare
  • Mediafire
  • Megaupload
  • Easy-Share
  • Netload
  • Depositfiles

To install....

1. Upload all of the files in the "upload" folder

2. Open the product-dlc.xml in Notepad or Wordpad.

3. Place your forum username in every username="" tag you see.

4. After that you can import the product.

5. Setting up a cron to make it run automatically. Set up the cron here. admincp>scheduled tasks>add new scheduled task

Use these variables.

Varname: dead_link_checker

Title: Dead Link Checker Bot

Description: Checks for dead links and adds them to graveyard

Log Phrase: dead_link_checker

Set how often you want it to run

Then

Filename: ./includes/cron/dlc.php

Thanks. READ THE README File. It has some file edits you have to do to prepare the product. I am working on making it so you don't have to edit the product.

can this be made in such a way that it checks all the posts in a thread ?

For eg. if a thread consists of two posts with links in them, i would like it to check the two posts. If post 1 links have expired, i want it to delete only that post (or move) not the entire thread.

is this possible to code? may be an option to check all posts or only the first post would be awesome :D

bleros it seems you need to install cURL on your server. If you are on shared hosting contact your provider.

Freekurd did you follow the YOUNEEDTOREADTHIS File? If not please read that.

when i run the cron job he display this error message

Found the issue.
Please change the directory name in lowercase.It Creates an different Cron directory instead inserting it in cron

Follow the instructions. You set up a cron for it

YOU SET UP A CRON. And it runs automatically. You don't run it manually through the it's /admincp/dlc.php

mac this is a great mod but i have a problem

1.on the "Dead Link Checker Private Message Configurations" when i click save i just get "page not found" (so i cant set the graveyard up)

2. i get this warning when i run the Scheduled Task

Hey! Thanks for this great mod! Have been looking for it ages... Anyway it seems to be an bug when i've checking bigger threads with more links... I just get an database error.. hmmm :(

Can we add a feature for the bot to reply if the links are good? I know it sounds dumb but I figure it will shuffle up the posts a bit to stimulate activity. Thanks

I'm a newb when it comes to fancy mod titles. What does this do or what does it mean to a site Vbulletin owner when they read "...checks links" in the 6 word sentence provided?

Sorry, but I expected more from the description.

Not Acceptable

An appropriate representation of the requested resource /admincp/dlc.php could not be found on this server.

This mod, when run through browser directly by accessing the URL of the php file, works perfectly. But when I schedule it through the cron.. it throws an error
