Since everything is becoming AJax... then Why not WOL(Whos Online)
Is Should be Ajax too...

What do you guyz say ?

Who's Online is generally spread over multiple pages, all members are not viewable on one page so it's not really beneficial to refresh using AJAX. You can set it to refresh automatically every x seconds if you want.

If you mean the users in the "What's Going On?" box, thats very easy to do with ajax.

thats exactly what i m talkin about... "Whats goin on" .... which is actually /online.php

And i'm talking about the box on index.php

How can we did it in the both index.php and online.php pages.

I think this is an excellent idea. IMHO everything in vb should be 'live'.

Then it will come with problem of setting cookies for your vbulletin board :)

Why should there be cookie problems?

But i think that wouldn be so good for the serverperformance if there are too many requests.

Would there be a way around it?
The way Coders_Shack has explained in his Live topic mod, it seems that you can call with light queries?

since, CYB made his top 5 stats mod Ajax... why not WOL, and i m talking about /online.php , coz i know too many mod and admin, track their guest and users from there... so why do we have to reload the whole page when we have Ajax enabled :)

Because 1 or 2 admins checking every few minutes (reload page) doesn't have much impact on the performance, every visitor reloading the WOL each few minutes does.

but those 1 or 2 admin left that page open for 5 to 7 hours atleast.... and it keeps reloading in every 60 minutes... so do your math here:) anyways... if this thing is not possible then let it slide.... :) thanks for everyone's help.. Cheers
