This Is Veryyy Important!!

OMG!

It says my site has been hacked!!!

SEOvB 01-17-2009 02:43 AM

Thats horrible.

If you'd like more help, we'll need more details.

You can try reuploading vBulletin file, or reverting templates to fix it

Lynne 01-17-2009 02:58 AM

Site looks fine to me. If you were hacked, I would strongly suggest you talk to your host and ask their assistance in finding how the hackers were able to do this.

iBardia 01-17-2009 02:59 AM

I got it up..

We had a screen that said "You have been hacked"

You should try to investigate how they did it and make sure you've taken measures to ensure it doesn't happen again as if they can do it again, I'm sure they'll be back shortly tod o so.

I really dont get why they did my forums.

We only opened three months ago. We're about a kid subject, and we're all kids.

Doesnt make sense.

You should have an access_logs file on your server, if you know what time frame the site was hacked, you can check the logs.

Hackers have no reason to attack anyone. They pick their targets at random, just because.

They're so stupid too.

They made it so easy to distroy them

It's just a matter of getting in and disrupting your forum. Not so much whether you can fix it or not. Mostly they just do it because they know it will get under your skin. Which is why I don't let it bother me when it does happen, and I make sure to back up my database regularly.

All they did was hide a file and add images.

We re-uploaded vB and we were all set.

Well Done, It goes to show how important it is to make regular backups, at least weekly.

Don't forget to update your new passwords and login details for your server ;)

If the problem that caused this to hasppen, then past experiances show that they WILL be able to do it again

Take Care

:)

I think your missing an important step, finding out how they did it in the first place.

Unless you've taken measures to protect yourself against the same type of attacks in the future, simply re-uploading probably won't solve much and they'll more than likely be back to cause more grief.

There are different methods of "hacking" into your site. Maybe SQL injection, or maybe something else. Firstly, what have they done?

iBardia 01-17-2009 12:16 PM

Some of my members remember what it said. They said it was something about a "Gaza Hackers Group."

Then there was this part in Arabic. Which said like, "God is great"

And the bottom line said "Hi Admin"
