Here i am again, sitting at home doing some paperwork :(

And i've hit a mega problem, I need to edit some employment contracts for work, but I use office 2007 at work and at home i only have office 2003 :o

The file from office 2007 ends like this word.docx and i need to convert it to a standard word.doc so i can finish the edits and add a few bits in.

Just spent the last hour downloading no end of converters, but all its done is freeze my pc.

can anyone convert a word 2007 doc to a standard word 2003 doc for me?? I can email you the zip file if you send me a PM

All done mate, and thanks for letting me know that open office can convert (save) different formats. Thats not a bad little program, thats a bit rich coming from me a true die hard microsoft office fan. May well use it whilst i have it installed, Can't believe its FREE :eek:

DOCX to DOC, right?

You don't need any converter for that.
Main menu -> Save As -> Word 97-2003 Document

You only need extra converters for DOC to DOCX.

just slow click to rename and take the X off the end ;)

In my old job i always used MS Office. But now that i must pay myself for the software, i also switched to OpenOffice, never had a problem with it.

Yes but according to his question, he does seem to have it. Or I might have misunderstood.

He has a document created at his work with Office 2007, that he needs to edit with his Office 2003 at home.

http://www.zamzar.com/ - I've used site once or twice to convert (small) files. I would've been able to open them on my desktop, but I try to keep all the crap off my notebook. :D

Tried that and it just froze my pc, didn't want to read the file at all :confused:
