WoG - Quick Selective Quoting
 

What is it? / What does it do?
This is a small modification, which adds the possibility of selective quoting.
Highlight the text of your choice, click the appropriate button and the "Quick Reply" you receive the text to quote.

Installation
1-) Upload image quickquote.gif to your style directory. (example in attachment)
2-) Import product


Upgrade
1-) Import latest product and select Allow Overwrite
2-) If doing changes - revert template wog_quick_quote_button


You don't want Auto-Position?
1-) Log in to AdminCP
2-) vBulletin Options -> vBulletin Options -> WoG - Quick Selective Quoting
3-) Auto-Position -> Select No
4-) In templates: postbit and postbit_legacy insert variable $wog_qquote_button
to the position in which it is located the button "Quick Quote"

XML Error: not well-formed (invalid token) at Line 7

I got that too...

Edit the XML and delete line 7, that fixes it.

Please, add line break in product template after </a> tag. Without it "blog this post button" have no separate space from your one.

This button was added in vbblog 2.0.1

Any chance to make this mod work in conjunction with the default Q'Reply button, instead of creating a new link?

This mod is excellent.

The only thing I reckon it needs is a Javascript alert box if you click the button without highlighting any text. Currently I keep getting "blank quotes" from people misunderstanding that they must highlight some text first.

All of a sudden this stopped working on my board. I even re-uploaded the product, overwriting. The button shows up, but nothing happens when you click.

Here's the odd problem: I tested it in a few forums and threads, works. But, it is not working on this specific post:

Uninstalled since the quote is correctly created but the problem is that is not more recognized as a quote and appear as simple text like

Installed. Confirmed working in 3.8.3. However, install was missing the button image. I did a screen shot of the one in the description above and added it.

There is bug, if nickname contains ' char . Clicking button produces JS error. I've attached quick-fix. It's better to use "addcslashes" in button generation code, to isolate ' and \

Button appears in PM's any idea how to prevent the button from appearing in PM's as it doesn't work in PM's...

Just text but it's as it's very light weight and doesn't need a 120kb js script :P

Awesome Mod and using it across 4 forums however sadly:

It appears it will NOT quote selected text if the username of the person you're quoting has the character ' in it.

For example:

Name'
Blahblah'

It just doesn't do anything when the Quote button is pressed, bummer! And solutions?
