Very nice style. Easy to read.

svoeric 01-13-2009 11:01 AM

Nice styles... Take the extra AD crap out, and I'll use them.
no, I don't want to go into the template and delete, or remove it from adminCP

Don't worry, your not using them doesn't bother me at all, but I appreciate the comment. Last time I checked I was the one that put the effort into providing these FREE for you to use. It's your choice if you want to or not.

KevinL 01-13-2009 01:50 PM

hahahhaahhahahah people crack me up nowadays! I just don't get it!

Great work. Thank you :)

macara 01-13-2009 02:59 PM

Very Nice!

Please could you help me to delete this advertisment because I couldn't find it.

In your templates, you will see a section of templates called Ad Location Templates.

Double click that to expand the template section. That ad spot is called ad_header_logo

Revert that template, or simply delete it's content, or replace with your 468x60 banner, and save.

Note: All that ads are located in these templates:

ad_header_end
ad_header_logo
ad_navbar_below
ad_showthread_firstpost
ad_showthread_firstpost_start

I suggest you simply delete the adsense portion only, that way if you ever run ads, you will still have the style part of the template so it displays best.

Thank you very much for this assistance :)

If you want to use CMPS with this you have to manually go in and move some of the images that are in the main folder to the misc folder then update all the templates. I have some dead images because of this....

markbolyard 01-15-2009 02:03 AM

That's true because of path issues, but instead of moving images or having additional copied you could edit the templates with the full paths to the images. I'm not sure of any other way around this as I've used others styles that do the same thing.. come to think of it, most that I've used with vbadvanced have required either a full path, or duplicate images.

KevinL 01-15-2009 02:25 AM

Yeah I just went and put all full paths :)

I thought of that right after my post. Because I used your curves style before I think thats what I did.

Thank you though! It wasn't really a big deal. haha

Digital Jedi 01-15-2009 04:20 AM

And usually you only have to do that if you keep your CMPS home page in a different directory then your forum. Otherwise the relative path should usually work.

macara 01-15-2009 08:07 AM

So your saying the FAQ tab doesn't link to anything?

markbolyard 01-15-2009 12:29 PM

Yes, you have to be a little bit clearer as to what you are asking. I have no idea what that's supposed to mean.

macara 01-15-2009 01:57 PM

Revert the template named Forumrules. That will display it as you have shown. Admincp - Styles & Templates - Style Manager. Edit templates on the Crastel Style. Find Forumrules, click revert, save.

Just like Curve this is very nice !!!! Installed..

Tip: for those who can't edit temp simply before u upload ur style change the pub google ads inside than save it with ur pub number...

I wish u used text for buttons, for the nav bar, so we do not have to make them
<td class="vbmenu_control"><a href="blog.php">Blog</a></td>

<td class="vbmenu_control"><a href="terms.php">Disclaimer</a></td>

<td class="vbmenu_control"><a href="arcade.php?$session[sessionurl_q]">Arcade</a></td>

Garnet2727 01-25-2009 02:15 PM

I really love this style and the red one. I'd love to use them, but here's the problem.

I'm a vB idiot. :o I'm in the process of setting up a forum, for the very first time in vB and man oh man, is it a steep learning curve.

I've been able to upload and install the styles. I was able to follow the instructions re: the ads. But the buttons don't show or show as a red x. I've read comments in here about it, but I'm so new to this that I don't understand some of the lingo.

Is there a style manual for idiots? Barring that, can someone take me by the hand and tell me what to do?

Thank you.

KevinL 01-25-2009 04:09 PM

Did you make sure you uploaded them to the correct place? Right click on the button and do properties and see where the button resides. And see if the button is actually there.

Garnet2727 01-25-2009 04:23 PM

This is what I get in properties when I right click on a red x:

http://www.garnetsgrotto.com/images/.../forum_old.gif

garnetsgrotto.com is the correct url for my forum.

ac1d1dty 01-25-2009 05:20 PM

Just want to say thank you for this lovely skin :)

Could you link me to a tutorial on how to make my own, or a file with the little pieces which I have to change the colour of. I am happy with the original style that vBulletin provides but I wish to change a few things.

Thanks anyway.

Your forum is closed to guests so I can't see anything. If your buttons are there but aren't showing try uploading them again in I think binary mode...

zonhisham 01-29-2009 06:48 AM

As soon as I click the Import button, I got these msgs:

Code:

This file was created using a different version of vBulletin from the one you are running.

Your version: 3.8.1
File version: 3.8.0

What should I do? TIA.

ShawneyJ 01-29-2009 10:46 AM

Excellent Work once again ;)

Did you actually put the crastel folder in your images folder as instructed?
