Cyb - PM System Enhancements
 

Info:
This enhances your Private Messages system:
-PM Menu in NavBar PM stats
-Advanced unread PM(s) notification
-"Reply To All" option in messages which was sent to multiple recipients
-Option to completely disable Signatures in PMs
-Options to change NewPM form checkboxes defaults

All features can be enabled/disabled in hack settings.

See screenshots.


Installation:
1. Import XML file as product: AdminCP > Plugin System > Manage Products > [Add/Import Product]


To set options:
Go to: AdminCP > vBulletin Options > Cyb - PM System Enhancements

-Compatible with vBulletin 3.7 Gold (may not work with Beta/RC releases)
-Minor bugs fixed, some code optimization done


Click INSTALL if you like this hack.

Sometimes, members couldn't see incoming pri.messages. And also reply to all is great.

Installed & love it, but it looks like if you use Quick Reply, it automatically chooses to Reply All. We've turned that off for now, but other features are working.

If there's a work around, please LMK.

I get an error and missing picture graphic when I try to enable the flashing text. Any ideas?

Hi,

great, installed it. But I have a little question. I tried it in out test forum and everything is perfect (see pic 3).

But in our "real" forum there seems to be an error when a new message is in the pm box (see pic 2). The text is missing. If there's no new message, it's al right (see pic 1).

Any ideas??

As soon as I installed I started getting the following Database Error :

mysql_connect() [<a href='function.mysql-connect'>function.mysql-connect</a>]: Can't connect to local MySQL server through socket '/var/lib/mysql/mysql.sock' (2) /home/fdo49530/public_html/forum/includes/class_core.php on line 311

I have disabled the mod and the error appears to have stopped..

V3.8.1 with various mods..

Any ideas please?

Thanks Cyb for your great efforts, but I have one issue with this mod. Im having a script error when Im using this mod.

"this.controlobj" is null or not an object.

btw Im using vB 3.8.1, and IE7. it works great with vB 3.7.4 though.

Cyb -- Any chance you can help me out with the "auto reply-to-all" when quick replying to messages? I LOVE the reply-to-all functionality but can't enable it because it replies to everyone when using the quick reply....

Quick question.
Product is installed, but not functioning the way you describe.

When I receive a PM, I do not get a flashing red "Unread 1" text is flashing link your screenshot shown here:

Instead, I get the "Your Notifications" text, in red, NOT flashing, as in the attached screenshot.

Is something mis-configured on my end?

Thank you in advance for your assistance. I think this would be a great alternative to the PM notification pop-up, which I personally find quite anoying.

Blinking works fine here in Firefox and IE, not in Safari. What's your browser?

Screenshots was made with older vB version where 'Your notifications' was not there.

IE 7.0.5730.13 on XP Pro.
vB 3.8.3

After watching it for a while, I can see the "Your Notifications" text flicker very slightly every once in a while, but it's not a noticeable blinking like your example.

Just checked in Firefox 2.0 and it does flash in that browser,,, but not in IE 7.

Any word on the reply to all issues? This is the only thing keeping me from installing this mod as it is the main feature I want, but don't want Quick Reply to reply to all.

This is a weird problem - The dropdown arrow appears twice on forumhome, but not on any other page. I can't duplicate the problem on vbtest or localhost. I've been using this mod for a long time and I don't recall seeing the double arrow until recently.

I did uninstall and reinstall this mod recently, due to another problem I was having (which I created) with Paul M's "Unread Posts" mod. That problem has been resolved.

Cyb, any idea what could be causing this or what I could do to correct it? As I mentioned un/reinstalling doesn't fix it.

EDIT: ry215's Sidebar Column hack is what causes the double dropdown arrow; turning the "User Column" off solves the problem.

How To Change MANUAL Style For Active This Mode

Cyb....anything we can do?

Excellent product. We operate a large BF2 mod website, and have a decent sized team of Devs. Would it be possible to integrate or get a seperate addon for vB 3.8 that would facilitate a 'status' or AFK system, that would block users PMing Devs who they do not know are AFK for weekes/months?

I know there is a facility for users to turn off their PMs and only receive PMs etc from admins and mods, but the end-user is not notified of why the Dev has decided not to receive PMs for that duration. An editible reason from within the AdminCP , for set usergroup IDs would be excellent! Too much? :D
