Change Threads/Posts Owner/Date for vB3.8
1 Attachment(s)
Change Posts Owner
Created by Marius Czyz aka Phalynx. Tested on vBulletin 3.6, 3.7 and 3.8 What does this modification do? It can change the owner and date of multiple threads and post. For this, it adds another option to your mod actions on forumdisplay, showthread and search results. After selecting some threads or posts, you can choose the new owner by name or by UserID. "By name" works with the AJAX namesuggestion, we all know it from writing a PM. After changing the name, it rebuilds thread/forum counters and post counter of old and new user. Attachments will also be assigned to new user. Installtime: <1 minutes Difficulty: very easy (1 product) Demo is not available, due to missing permissions on my board. Please click Mark as INSTALLED, otherwise I will not support you. Features - Can change owner and date of selected posts and threads (including database attachments - it will not move file attachments) - Can change owner to unregistered user and back - Can accept user id and username - Username input is driven by AJAX - Post count of involved users will be increased/decreased - Thread and forum counters of involved threads and forums will be rebuild - Supports inline moderation - Makes use of $template_hooks, hooks and simple group permissions - Every change will leave a notice in moderation log Features for future releases - Incrementally change time, f.e. first posts is 12:01:01, second one will get 12:01:02h, third one 12:01:03h.... - Moving file based attachments to the new user How to install?- Simply import product How to upgrade?- Uninstall existing product, install new one Changelog v1.8, released 7. January 2009 - Apostroph in Username will be filtered out - Fixed 12h/24h recognition v1.7, released 4. June 2008 - Attachments will now be also assigned to the new user - Added ability to change date of posting - Added ability to assign post to guest user - Added ability to set IP Address (-> AdmincP, Settings) - Added moderation to search result (posts) v1.6, released 19. June 2008 - Post counter of old and new user will be updated - Added moderation to search result (threads) - Clean up code - Compatible with vBulletin 3.7 GOLD - Minor fixes |

I could write on croatian, but will you understand me? |
thx for the update
|
Thx for this mod!
Feature request: Change only date and not owner of a post/thread. I.e. separate Owner and Date change permissions and add in the ACP a new permission field with the name "Which usergroup should be able to change the date?". |
Will think about this, thanks.
|
You rock! Thank you! You're saving me a big problem with this one RIGHT now!
|
Thanks for this,, really appreciate ur time taken,

Is this supposed to be for Admins only? I installed it and the Mods can see it in the Mod pulldown menu, but after hitting Go, it tells them they do not have sufficient priveledges. So far only Admins can use it.

nice, i just want to know before installing this if it can change the name of the social group discussion and post too ?
thanks in advance |
It can only change threads/posts of normal forums. Changing SG' discussion is a nice addition, will think about it.
Just a note: I'm on holidays from today up tu thursday (29 January). No support will be given in this time. |
yes it would be a nice idea if you manage to do it.
for example, i really want to move some threads to the social groups and i can't do it... with your mod, i can copy paste the thread to a new discussion and after change my name of each post to the real poster name long way but sure way ^^ 'have nice holidays |
OH... works great, thanks! :D
|
Today, I needed to change the owner of a post from "Guest" to the name of a new member, and your mod did the job.
Thanks! |
Was looking for this. Thanks. Clicked installed! :)
|
Thankyou Installed
|
Excelent!!!
Voted for MOTM!! Thks |
Very nice, but the clock seems to be off. It would be nice if it could match the current logged in user's time settings.
For example, if I want to change a post with time 08:44 PM, then I get 14:44:23 in the edit box. This is off with 4 hours. |
Seems a problem on international boards by chaning post date.
|
Installed :)
|
Thanks, installed ;)
|
Installed thx.

Love the mod as it's just what I need but it's formatting the date wrong. I wanted it to be 2/12/09 but it's displaying as 12/2/09. How can I fix this? All of my other threads/posts (those untouched by this extension) show the proper date format. Any help would be appreciated.
RESOLVED: I was entering the typical M/D/Y format into the boxes but realize now that the extension's boxes are in D/M/Y format. I just have to remember to do the date a little differently. I did have to go in and fix the "futuristic" listings via PhpMyAdmin but the issue is resolved and it's working as intended. |
Hooahh! Thanks much! Installed, MOTMd, and beer money on the way. :D
