|
Sounds excellent! I will install tomorrow but I am clicking install now so I don't forget!
Nice job from the sounds of it! |
Yeah I am interested in that question too. What if we already have vbSEO? Is it still necessary?
|
hmmm looking at View page before install and after install
meta tags contain same information as before, plus my headincluded did not have matching search tags as you added.. My original thread keyword tag - Code:
<meta name="keywords" content="<if condition="$threadinfo['taglist']">$threadinfo[taglist], </if>$threadinfo[prefix_plain_html] $threadinfo[title], $vboptions[keywords]" /> My original forums keyword tag - Code:
<meta name="keywords" content="$foruminfo[title_clean], $vboptions[keywords]" /> |
Same on vbSEO - same question that is. Looks promising, may be exactly what I've been looking for but want to get response to question before installing it.
|
VBSEO already adds forum specific keywords for each forum to your generic keywords. It also does this for each thread and post. VBSEO also adds a description related to each forum or thread.
This is a good mod if you don't have VBSEO installed but if you do, I don't think you need it. |
Thanks
will give it a try tonight Marked Intalled :) |
Single Template Edit made simple. Now its a simple cut and paste job. Install Instructions also updated. Enjoy.
|
Thanks for the update
|
Looks interesting to me, going to try it, thanks!
|
Please add language definitions (lang=X), so that multilingual forums can finally get indexed in google.com google.de google.fr or whatever versions of google. They have separate indexes.

Some things seems to be listed twice, for some reason. What's up with that?
<meta name="keywords" content="tweaking, overclocking, registry edits, tips, tricks, windows,XP,Vista, overclocking, annoyances,fi xes, tweaks, modification, mods,T weaking" /> <meta name="description" content="It's all about not having to wait, right? Overclocking, registry edits, tips, tricks, etc.,It's all about not having to wait, right? Overclocking, registry edits, tips, tricks, etc." /> |

Before adding a keyword please checkout: what is already showing up in the source of webpage... only add those keywords which are not already showing up. same applies to description as well. :) |

Could we have an update for the "find" and "replace" parts? Because I just upgraded to 3.8.1 and it seems the headinclude has changed. And I'm no good at coding or php.:)
|
installed
Code:
<if condition="$show['threadinfo']"> my vb version is 3.8.1 |
I have a semi-minor concern about this, and I'm not sure if it will affect search engine indexing or not.
After I update the keywords, for some reason they do not change when I view the page source IN THE ARCHIVE. They do update instantly, from what I've seen, in the full version, standard viewer, but I cannot figure out when I view the page source for the archive the keywords are not updated. Now, like I said, I don't know how big of a deal this is. I know Google crawls my archive every now and then, but I don't know if it would help Google index my pages if the archive were consistent?? Know what I mean? Any suggestions or input would be greatly appreciated!!! |
