MySpace 2.0 Profile System

WHAT DOES THIS DO?

This will change your profile page to have a myspace style layout.
This also uses standard css classes so should fit into any skin.
It should squeeze down to 800x600 (just) and stops expanding around 1000 wide so
it doesn't look too warped.
We suggest setting everyone's profile pictures to 150x150 exactly for this to show up correctly and as intended.

INSTALLATION INSTRUCTIONS

1- Upload .htaccess to forum root dir
2 - Upload the images to /images folder keeping their respective directories
3 - Upload the other files to the forum root
4 - Install product
5 - Create profile fields (as below)

This MySpace profile addon is the updated version to my original release here. If you have installed this other one, then please uninstall and install this one in its place.

FAQ.

Does this work with vBulletin 3.8?
I don't see why not, although this is untested. If someone tests, please report back to me with an answer

What template does this modify?
This modifies the MEMBERINFO template

Not all the fields show up.
Please check the field ID numbers. If you changed any of them, make sure you change them in the template too.

Do you have a working demo?
The only demo I have is on my test board, which as per the licence agreement is unaccessible to the public. If someone can install this and give me the URL, I will update this post with their board URL

Any plans for a facebook one?
We shall see. I am still in 2 minds whether I would like to do a facebook one or stick to MySpace

Please remember to mark as installed and feel free to nominate us for MOTM.

If you have any ideas for future releases, please post them below and I will look into adding them.

This modification also comes with a flash music player for your users to play music on their profiles :D

It's definately in there.
Some computers put it as a blank file with no name.
I've attached it to this post again for you.

It's saved as htaccess.php, just rename it to .htaccess and upload to your forum root.

also, next release the mod needs a user option so the user can choose which layout to enable on the profile. i have a way to do it, but the thing is how am i suppose to code the if condition

I wish it didn't use userfields for information, it should have it's own page to put info in tbh.

How do I get a profile field that has all ready been used and deleted. If I add a new profile field to the list, it does not give me the option to decide that? Also If I don't have those will this not show up at all, cause I have doe everything and the profile looks the same?

We are upgrading it so that the default profile view doesn't show the custom profile fields, it will only show on the MySpace profile.

It doesnt seem to work for me. I have inserted the rewrite rules into vbseo's rewrite rules and no luck. It does however work fine on a test installation. Could it be that our live install's MEMBERINFO template is customised so it doesnt work or is it something to do with vBseo?

Please help with this, thank you.

Let me make sure that I've got this straight...

If the profile field ID is already occupied, I have to edit that field to match your designated ones and then I have to make a new profile field if I want to still use the original profile field?

So I really have to do this 20 times? ._.

I think your install instructions could be better, certainly the user profile fields having to match up exactly or it renders the entire profile useless and a total mess, and trying to reverse the install is a complete nightmare, having checked all the membersinfo pages I can't find which one has been altered.

I figured out what was wrong, when I install the mod the memberinfo page is there, when I uninstall the mod it vanishes leaving my profile pages blank.

We are getting a new product to fix this.
Thanks for bringing this to our attention.

This new fix will allow each user to choose if they would like the new MySpace look or the default profile.

The reason it was deleted is because you un-installed the product. MEMBERINFO is a default vB template, so you should have clicked on the link "show default" and then copy that code, replacing the MEMBERINFO template.

How To Fix:

Go into your style, click the drop down box next to it in Style Manager and select "Add New Template"
Call this template MEMBERINFO and in the template box, enter the following:

I am still waiting for someone to test this on 3.8

So far.. the URL isn't correct that displays on the member profile.. gonna try to CSS it... to see if you can style it.

For some reason i've done all the modifications required to install this, however it is not showing up correctly, please does anyone have any ideas as to why it looks like this and what i can do to fix it?

Thanks for helping bro, the user profile fields aren't showing correctly. How do I add them??? Every time I add a new field under the admincp it starts at 11 12 or 13 even if i delete the previous field how do i fix this?

I installed this and something went wrong. I tried to remove it and now when a member checks out another profile, its a blank page. What do I have to change back in the template. Please help.. Thanks

Edit: When I unistal the xml, the memberinfo is missin from the template, I also sent ya a pm

As said in the PM, don't uninstall the XML, just click on "show default code" in MEMBERINFO, copy everything in there, paste over the MySpace code and save.

Well you need to make sure the Music Player field is updated in the template.
Then you need to set a link to a mp3 file that's already on the net.

e.g:
www.somedomain.com/musicfile.mp3

Here is my profile page. Keep in mind it has Vida Guerra and it shows her butt. There is no nudity. I altered the membersinfo template to bring back some of the original items from default membersonfo template. let me know what you all think.
