Ok here is the first problem :S

I was using your old version (here: https://vborg.vbsupport.ru/showthread.php?t=127750) from vB3.6 till vB3.8 RC2 and it was working fine. Now I upgraded to this new version overwriting the old version.

When I went to Forum Manager to check 'Allow threads to have a description' it was Off by default and when I trying to enable it, I'm getting this db error...

Did 2 times but still same :S

TrucLinh 01-05-2009 05:16 PM

Note: If you can use your db utilities you only add this column 'descriptiondefault' into your forum db

BE SURE TO PERFORM A BACKUP OF YOUR DATABASE BEFORE PROCEEDING.
Please run the following query to add it:
Quote:

ALTER TABLE `forum` ADD `descriptiondefault` SMALLINT(6) NOT NULL DEFAULT '1';
Or ---------------------------------

. Uninstall this mod
. Install news, all way works!

Q.Nhu

soulface 01-05-2009 05:29 PM

thx.. Uninstall/Install works..

(You were little late about that db query :S)

You've done something wrong.
Works well for me and other members.

Skyrider 01-09-2009 10:22 AM

When I installed this, within the description it says "total guests visisted this forum is x1, x2 and x3"

I assume this is a conflict with another plugin?

Please find a conflict mod, by disable your other install mods in your forum sys, one by one, you will find with one, then show me the link to download that mod, I will try to fix it for you. Thanks!

-----------------------------------

Installed and working.

Thanks.

zefyx 01-10-2009 08:07 AM

Thanks, one thing I did notice however is if you have any other modifications that go into the forum controls within the admincp (vbseo, etc) the "Enable / Disable Features" will not house the Forum Description permissions, it will be listed at the very bottom of the page, in my case in the vBSEO settings.

Thanks :)

DeMonViTo 01-10-2009 09:21 AM

thx

klaush 01-10-2009 01:57 PM

Thanks for this.

The version for 3.7 is working with 3.8; your update shows nothing above the editor.

Any idea?

ShawneyJ 01-11-2009 12:44 PM

is this meant to appear in vbulletin options somewhere? i try 3.7 and 3.8 of this hack and i cant find it anywhere to enable it to work.

Did find a small bug so far.

If you create a new thread, and enter in the title as well as description as provided by this mod and hit post it shows just fine.

If you create a new thread, enter title and description and select preview, it reloads with a preview of the post, but the description disappears and you have to re-type it again.

tafreeh 01-12-2009 06:22 PM

and i will install dis when i update ma board to3.8

This is an excellent mod, however it does need an admin-set maximum field length so that people don't post entire paragraphs as the description.

One problem I did just run into, the description isn't carried over when you preview the thread.

. Added description field to Post Preview New Thread (news)

I'm not install SEO. You can test it if you like. Only install and uninstall in your sys.
