vBulletin.Org, Minor changes - 29 Dec 2008

Some minor code updates have been applied today.

* Graphics Tab added.
* Style Tab changed - now only goes to styles forums.
* Latest Articles added to homepage.
* Articles listed at bottom of modifications list in user profile.
* Tag/Untag Modification added as (ajax) option on main modification post.
* Style Colour and Width options now in footer of page.

As a result of the changes, everyone will default to the blue style, fixed width format (950px) - you can quickly change back to the colour of your choice (and full width if desired) by using the new footer options.

KevinL 12-29-2008 02:59 PM

Very nice :)

I tried to put it back to 760px but it stays on 950px. Is This just me or is this by design?

Paul M 12-29-2008 03:03 PM

Those options no longer work and have been removed, there are only two choices, fixed (which is 950px) or wide (which is 100%).

Hasann 12-29-2008 03:04 PM

Great Work Uncle Paul :D

Thanks a lot I Like them

Mazinger 12-29-2008 03:06 PM

Too bad there's no 778px width fixed. :(

veenuisthebest 12-29-2008 03:09 PM

A small bug in Articles modules on homepage:-

It shows [] with Installed (0) on mouse hover over any article.

ForumsMods 12-29-2008 03:09 PM

I would like Width in 95%.

Winterworks 12-29-2008 03:14 PM

Currently a slight problem with Purple.

Rest looks good!

Installed (0) is actually correct, tho I supposed its a bit pointless. I'll add some conditionals when I have a moment.

princeedward 12-29-2008 04:35 PM

* Style Colour and Width options now in footer of page.

UKBusinessLive 12-29-2008 06:07 PM

TimberFloorAu 12-29-2008 07:25 PM

Looks Fab !

I want it !!!! ;)

Lionel 12-29-2008 09:24 PM

yeah, layout options mod is nice

WetWired 12-29-2008 09:56 PM

With the extra tabs, either way it stretches wider than my browser window. I can't see any reason it doesn't collapse smaller than it does.

Barakat 12-29-2008 11:51 PM

great work i love them too

Digital Jedi 12-29-2008 11:54 PM

Are modifications in the Graveyard supposed to have the Supported graphic twice, or is that just a fluke? https://vborg.vbsupport.ru/showthread.php?t=199836

Guest190829 12-30-2008 12:27 AM

The image was added in the post, which is why it is appearing twice.

Shazz 12-30-2008 02:08 AM

ITs going to take time getting use to...

KevinL 12-30-2008 04:27 AM

When you tag a mod it doesn't stay tagged. Just noticed it.

Mazinger 12-30-2008 05:57 AM

Do you have any stats about users' resolutions here? I'd love to know the most used screen resolution the site is being surfed with?

valdet 12-30-2008 07:35 AM

I'd love if we still had the width options on User CP. The current fixed version is to narrow and the wide stretches 100 % across the page.

Just a suggestion to have width options as we use to have before.

Thanks

Yes it does, works fine for me.

For December ;

Code:

1. 1024x768    25.52%
2. 1280x1024  18.70%
3. 1280x800    16.81%
4. 1680x1050  11.62%
5. 1440x900    10.04%
6. 1920x1200    4.69%
7. 1152x864    3.60%

That would support my request of changing the fixed width to 800px or 750px, as for most of the users (using 1024x768) both options will give the same result.

Another inquiry, did you remove the gradient background for the thead cells?

agitated 12-30-2008 01:44 PM

Nice work, well done.

ian99 12-30-2008 01:59 PM

FYI - when I clicked on wide, it went wide but I got a message saying 'Invalid Type specified. If you followed a valid link, please notify the administrator'

BTW - I am using Chrome.

DragonMasterNYC 12-30-2008 03:03 PM

The updates are great man.

Now I don't have to go through different menus to tag stuff.

Could we maybe in the future get a black or smoke color to chose from.

Zachery 12-30-2008 03:12 PM

I hate the style changes, people should leave well enough alone with the styles here. Everytime there is an update it gets worse.

Great support ! lol

Zachery 12-30-2008 03:35 PM

I've been around these sites since long before the vBT vB.org merger. Everytime some style update goes though it seems to make the site less userfriendly and more complicated.

The current style is bland and hardly a variation of the default. I don't understand why we couldn't just leave the CSS based color changes in seperate styles and leave it via the profile system. Instead of this complicated clunky new footer style chooser that most people haven't even noticed yet.

Further you changed the fixed with from something normal (760) to 950, which looks far to wide.

Ah, I guess I always assumed that the Supported graphic was removed by virtue of being moved to the Graveyard.

PixelFx 12-30-2008 06:42 PM

nice update :D

Doesn't 1024x768 mean 1024px wide since most monitors are wider than they are tall. Correct? That would mean the current 950?px width would adequately fit the 1024px majority of users.

lol, the only thing I disagree with is the width complaint. I browse from a 22in. monitor so the site looks better to me!

Thumbs down... now the forums are either too skinny or too wide. Give me some percentage option at least.

Digital Jedi 12-30-2008 06:58 PM

Eh, it's more options then we'd get anywhere else.

cheat-master30 12-30-2008 08:13 PM

Nice updates, such as the articles in profile (you probably can guess why I like that).
