Not working for me. I installed on 3.8RC2 and no notice appears using either Firefox 3.0.5 or IE 7.

Did you send yourself a PM to activate it?

I had somebody else. I realized that I hadn't been using the popup message on PM - just using the box in the upper right to keep track of them so I activated that but it was after I had already received the message but it's still unread.

Does the notice stay showing up until you read the message or does it only show up once?

Update - I got it to work.

Not without adding additional queries and the like. This modification utilises the information from the already done queries for new PMs.
You must have "Show New Private Message Notification Pop-up" enabled in your User CP.

It didn't even show up in the default style. Which template this affects?

This modification hooks into the default notices feature. It does not modify any templates. Create a notice and test of you can see it.

Are there any plans to make this able to stay until PMs are read? Can it be modified to use the PM notification indicator instead of the pop up to achieve that goal?

Sorry, just trying to help maximize the usefulness of the mod.

Still the same reply as in post #11. The problem is that notifications only fetch the number, and not any other data. I may implement this in the future.

Can the text be phrased so that this can be used on multi language systems?

It is phrased. ;) (Search for the phrase and you will see.) You can add translations, however, you must do this all through the phrase manager, and not through the "vBulletin Options" page.

I'm install but don't show box in difault style!

If your navbar is customised, revert it. (You will lose any changes made to the template.)

What change template? wich?

Do the users have the option of keeping it as PM or changing it to notice, or is it changed to notice regardless?

I said the template in my previous post to you... navbar
The new PM notification (the pop-up you get when you have a new PM) will be changed to a notice for every user.

i cant get it to work for me at all even sent a test pm to myself and nothin

You must have "Show New Private Message Notification Pop-up" enabled in your User CP. Also, your style must have the notices code in there (test this by creating a dummy notice).

No work for me. I've the default style, so no modification and I have "Show New Private Message Notification Pop-up" enabled

How are you sending a PM? Are you sending it to yourself?

I get this displayed in the Control Panel as a USER NOTICE.
Would be better if it displayed as a SITE NOTICE

That's definitely weird - do any "normal" notices you create show?
Huh? Notices are notices - they get displayed wherever you happen to "be" at a point in time.

found my issue. had nothing to do with this mod

Just installed it and it doesn't work. It got installed. The latest version. For my latest vBulletin version.

Everything looks fine but the notice isn't appearing.
