Allow guest to post, then redirect to register. Increase Registration rate
///////////////////////////////////
/// From Dave At: /// vBulletin Services /////////////////////////////////// Description: This simple product will allow you to enable guest posting for certain forums, then redirect guests to register.php after the post is made. Why Made: I've seen it asked for numerous times. Install instructions:
Does it do any cool tricks? It can sit, stay and roll over. And sometimes it increases registrations. To use this modification, you must allow guest posting new threads in atleast one forum, or else it is of no use to you. Demo: http://seovb.com/forums/forumdisplay.php?f=2 (new guest posts are moderated to prevent spam) |

nice one
thnx |
It sounds good. :)
Two questions: How is is different from the $15 vBulletin Guest Redirection Professional? When a user actually registers, is the post made with his new username or is still stored as a guest's post/thread? If not, what happens to the post/thread? |

Not obvious where to enable this. With the settings I have, a non-logged in user clicking on a new post or a new forum is redirected immediately to the guest registration page and not to a post page and then the guest registration. Coming from Discus 4.10 Pro, I expected this to enable the posting to be held for moderation and the user to register if they want to. Colin |

You'll probably want to set the usergroup to moderated for their posts. I'm attempting a version that won't approve the post or even make it appear until the user registers, but its slightly more difficult than I thought it'd be. |
Thank you. Works fine.
What is the difference between this and permitting public posting with moderation? Is it that the guest is suggested to register after posting? Part of the complexity of setting up vBulletin are all the options. Even though they may be explained, the whys of the set up are not always obvous. |
