Mass upload photos
Selecting photos for photo albums 1 by 1 is way too long. And there are alot of photography forums out there, I think this mod would be very popular
|
This would be very nice to have! Also, the ability to let users upload via URL.
At least let us upload more than 3 at a time..:up: |
How about custom amount at a time?
|
How about you 'browse' to the folder with all the pics and click 'upload'
like facebook? |
The Administrator can have more boxes for the uploads, it is settable via the admincp, but still a way to do more (like all you have in a folder on your computer) would be very nice. I like how myspace does it and it is very fast also and does not matter the file size either.
Anyone working on something like this? |
i'm thinking that ActiveX control embedded into vbulletin would answer this problem with a style :).
For example showing picture of shareware activex control (found on web via google): http://www.supershareware.com/images...iveX-36149.jpg I'm guessing that with a little work, such control (even if less professional) can be coded on visual studio c# (thats if no such open source project somewhere already, i havent checked it myself). I might attempt & code such activex should my free time allow it. |
will contribute some $ for your time if its cool
edit: just looked at your link, damn, thats exactly what Im talking about! Very nice, please work on this!!!! |
i'll try to work on it soon (week or two), will update you on any progress.
|
I may be able to help with this too if you'd like, IdanB

Sure thing :)
i'll add you on msn when i'll get back from work. We can develop this together if you wish. |
Mod of the Year.

Today I've been doing some "digging" to get the requiremnts i needs for this develop and i found some sad truth in the process:
Last time i coded ocx file was while back in the 1998. Back then, i had Visual Basic 6 installed on my pc (windows 95 or 98 as OS), and that program provided me with "ocx control" project type. Today, 11 years later, i'm using "Windows 7" (or vista for that matter), currently using Visual Studio .NET 2008. I've "digged" the app inside-out & later on googled for about 2 hours to be sure, but sadly it seems microsoft removed option to create ocx :( At best i can create dll (on WinForms) & register it for InterOp. True, that's would provide "some" solution (I've seen ways to load ActiveX.dll) but that's supported in IIS only i think, not sure about linux. Therefore, after consideration of developing options available to me, i've decided i shall construct this modification using Microsoft Silverlight technology (which is cross-platform supported). That would allow me similar dynamic coding interface for creating such functionality. I must note however i dont have any prior experience, yet, in Silverlight coding. This project will make this my project using this technology. As result, this development will take bit longer than i expected. |
Looking forward to this one too!

Any news on something like this yet?
