Image wont show up in post
So i have a contest going and someone submitted their first entry with this link
http://img212.imageshack.us/my.php?i...sc00073xt9.jpg when he clicks the photo icon to add it to the post, it doesnt come up. what is he, or i, doing wrong? |
It's because of the ? in the url - it won't show the image. Maybe he should try another photo hosting service.
|
try flickr for hosting. They dont use the "?" in the url and you shouldnt have any issues. Or you can install one of the gallery apps available for vb and allow users to upload to that where they can then link from. I prefer the later as then the images don't magically disappear at random moments.
Also, now that VB has the Albums feature, they can simply upload to their Albums and link from there as well.. |
is there a tutorial on how to enable this gallery thing for vb?

admincp/vb options/userprofile:album options
Once enabled you can create albums in your usercp and then upload pictures |
got it, thanks. really cool feature

Glad to help.

can you help me with somethign else? i had this mgc chatbox installed and i uninstalled it using the admin CP. now when i try to edit a usergroup i get php errors b/c the options for the chatbox are still showing for each usergroup and when it tries to update i get errors.
how can i remove it fully? |
You would have to search your database and remove all instances of the installation.. You can do this in phpmyadmin, but if you don't know what you are doing you can hose your database.. Not recommended.
when you uninstalled the mod, how exactly did you do it? |
my friend did it for me, who i no longer talk to lol.
so i have no idea, and yes i would hose my database probably |
You could try re-uploading the .xml file for the hack "allowing over writing" and then try just disabling it and see if you get the errors.
|
ok i will give it a try lol
|
is it easy to remove stuff from the database? is there a special way to do it?
|
You should go find the modification and read the installation file and then undo everything your were supposed to do to install it. It could be that you just left a couple of files still uploaded on your site and that is what is causing the database problems.
