Christmas 2008 (fluid style)

Christmas 2008
A free seasonal style for vB 3.7.4 from Pete Clifford Designs

VIEW DEMO
(Please note that the demo shows additional modifications which are not included in the style.)

Zip file contains:
Style images & XML
Font
PSDs for header, buttons & nav links
Documentation (install instructions)

Instructions:
Unzip. Upload "christmas" from the upload folder to your forums root directory.
Import the XML file via your ACP. The style should work with all versions of 3.7.x, however if you are NOT using 3.7.4 please set Ignore Style Version to YES

The style is a fairly traditional take on Christmas, and it's my first style release here on vB.

I've updated the original post to include a demo as the screenshots don't show the animations. Please note the demo shows additional modifications not included in the style. The screenshots are an accurate description of what is offered.

You do very good work. Like your other styles as well. Do you do custom work?

Thank you. I may be able to help with a custom project, it would depend on your requirements. Please register on my forum, or send me a PM here if you'd like to discuss this further. :)

thanks, very nice style and nice of you to share it

Thanks to all who have installed this style.

As I said in my original post, this is my first style release here on vB. Looking back it seems I ticked too many boxes when I released it . . . I'd said the style used the plug-in system which it does not. The files are uploaded, and the XML is imported via the ACP. This is the standard procedure, and there's nothing different here.

Obviously code changes have been made, as is apparent from the navigation menu.

I've edited the release accordingly and I trust the errors in my original description haven't put anyone off from using the style.

Due to time constraints I can only offer limited support here on vB, but further support is available to people who are registered on my forums.

Great looking design Pete! :up::up::up:

The only problem I had was there is no button for New Posts, so I added a link to the User Links button. I don't have a program for editing PSD files or I would have made a New Posts button.

Glad you like the design CableSux. "Today's posts" usually show in the drop-down menu when User Links is clicked, which is why I didn't include a seperate button.

If you still have need of it, I've attached a New Posts button to match the style. Please rename it according to your requirements.

You'll need to go to Styles and Templates in your admin cp, Select Style Manager, then on the Christmas style choose All Style Options and hit Go. Scroll down to the box titled Navbar Text and edit the colours to your preference. Click Save CSS when done. I'm assuming you reverted the Navbar template to get what you have, and if so this should work for you.

mastertek2000 12-22-2008 12:28 AM

that did not work bud ????? and i never reverted the Navbar template

Pete C 12-22-2008 10:25 AM

I'm sorry mastertek2000, but if the navbar is a seperate modification as opposed to a reverted template, the only advice I can give is to look at the instructions for the additional navbar again. It isn't part of the style I created, and consequently I cannot provide support for it.

* Update * Just as an afterthought - the navbars appear to be displaying according to the parameters of the Popup Menu Controls. If you see my previous post, and substitute Popup Menu Controls for Navbar Text you may find this will resolve the problem :)
