UGH, Stupid mod
 

I need help. I really hate one of my Moderators, and she is SOOOOOO mean and says I am dumb and stuff. But, a lot of people like her, and if she leaves, then I am gonna lose 7 members, one mod, and possibly an Admin. What should I do?

let her go simple as.No Mod rules makes the board so act now.

lol. Tell her to hit the road is it your forum or hers?

On this case I will recommend the contrary, since everybody seems to like her more than you [even me :D]

Well Sir, your opinion is Boardminded... but why it's so hard to understand that he made a bad selection of personal [not blaming] and now a lady is overpowering the guy and he's undecided on what to do? I say, repair your problem, and don't worry because more problems lay ahead...

I would say demote the mod and let them know who is running the forum. If they still continue to be a pain, then let them go.

You wouldn't want to just ban the person or anything harsh unless you has Solid proof and a strong community. ;)

What I would do is:

Send her a PM stating the fact I don't care for her saying I am "dumb and stuff" and as the owner I deserve respect. If this continues you will be forced to remove her from the staff..

See if you can work things out, otherwise it's your place and YOU are the commander. Dont let anyone belittle you. :mad:

If she can't respect that demote her.... :D

or there is always the Thrawn way of dealing with such people.. Remember the tractor beam incident in the thrawn trilogy? :D

and i agree with everyone else, send her packing if she won't fall inline

I think I may be the dissenting voice here. Sure, demote her - that's the way to go - but only if you are certain you're right. However, what are her reasons for saying you're dumb? Find out why she thinks your decisions were wrong and look at them - really look at them. Maybe they were the wrong thing to do. Discuss it with others who you can trust to be neutral, not 'yes men'.

You're demanding respect for being the owner. Respect is earned. It takes a pretty big person to admit they may have been wrong. Just demoting or banning her without taking into account that she may have a point on some things would make you look petty to the rest of the membership.

I don't know all the facts here - just what I see on this thread. I'm not convinced in either direction as to who is wrong or right. I've got a simple rule for this sort of thing - I won't always accept what you're saying, but I'll always listen. (Well, unless you're a certain member of my work's personnel team who is on many peoples' auto-delete rules...)

As everyone said, make her a normal user taking away all mod rights.

It's a really bad situation if you've got to a position where you hate one of your Staff and they insult you. It may be best to find out why they're callign you dumb etc, but if it turns out it's just a personality clash then show them the door. I'm making the assumption that this is your site and you pay the bills, so why should you be put in such a position?

The Miserable Mod springs to mind or even the VBulletin coventry option ;)

Personally, I'd get rid of the mod. They are trying to undermine you and probably using their position/mod powers to do that. In their mind, they'll probably see a future where they start up a rival forum and take all your members.

get rid of them or at least give them a 'put up or shut up' ultimatum and concentrate your time on improving the forum for your users. You'll probably find your users quite sympathetic especially if you run a good board.

Dump her. If a few leave, more will come. No brainier. If the content of your board is good, getting rid of a mod shouldn't make a difference and you certainly don't owe ANYONE an explanation.

Ok, but it seems to be a weakness of character , to regular ppl will take 3 seconds to decide and take action...

If she's calling you dumb with no explanation, she's acting like a child.
If you don't act, she will take it further and start doing something worse.....
Either make her a regular user or get rid of her showing you don't care.
People don't like that ;)

Deal with it directly, and with the conviction that you are right. If your board is worth using people will stick around.

She better be paying for your hosting or license to even be questioning her position :p

I had a similiar problem with a Mod. I ended up banning her as she broke the site rules (Be respectful of others).

Its hard man, but its your site ;)
