for vbulletin 3.8.x
*/

Finally, vBMA Version 2 has been released.

vB Members Area is a member management system, that enables your users to get their own customer number and password. They can then login to the system and purchase / download products that you specify. Each product that they purchase will be issued a unique licence number.

Before your members can download your products, they are required to edit their licence details to include the URL that the product will be installed on.

Due to the product having a seperate login system, your forum login will not work. This makes the modification more secure and will allow for you to delegate what users can access the mod.

What has changed between version 2 and the Beta Versions?
We have got rid of the install procedure, so all that is needed now is a product import. Along with this, there is no activation / validation procedure. There have been many more backend features. Users can now also sell their own products and get the money for it, by having an admin setup their product in the ACP along with the users paypal address in that product settings page.
Is there a PRO version?
Yes. Please do not discuss that here at vb.org as this is a free modifications site. Check out our homepage for this discussion.
Final Note
If you have vBMA Beta Versions installed on your board, please uninstall fully. Remove all the files and the products and any template edits, then please install this product. Please also note that any products you have set up, will be lost, so you will have to reset them again.

For anyone who is having trouble working out how to change the Priority Forum Support in Helpdesk and wants a temp fix until the next version is released, please do the following.

open MEMAREA_SHELL

find

Code:

<a class="smallfont" href="forumdisplay.php?f=6">{$vbphrase['memarea_priority_forum']}</a>
Change 6 to the number of the forum id you want to use for support.

How do you pull from the database who has signed up in the members area and been given a username and password?

Cheers

This feature is already shown in the users profile.
The best thing to do is to check MEMBERINFO for the code :)

I can see that mate, but maybe a list of all members who have purchased in the members area would make things so much easier than looking through every single members profile looking for that same info.

Get what I mean now?

Brandon Sheley 12-01-2008 03:34 PM

very nice mod, if I had a few products, I would use this in a heartbeat :)

Yeah I understand. I will look into getting this done for the next version :)

Wayne Luke 12-06-2008 04:58 PM

Are there plans to allow users to purchase multiple products/services at the same time?

Are there plans to allow users to purchase one-time services? So that once the service is marked as complete, they can purchase it again at a later date?

Asking about both of these either in this version or the pro version?

Xphusion 12-07-2008 03:58 AM

one question...to sum up from all iv read about this this mod is "basically" a VB shop to sell products / and to compliment the shop it has quality features like helpdesk etcetc(in the pro vers.)

correct?

can i sell digital goods/downloads with this mod?

ForumsMods 12-07-2008 12:53 PM

Yes you can.

Yes,
With this, you can specify how long a licence lasts for, so that when the licence expires, you can get them to purchase another licence for that product.
Same with one-time.. Set the licence to Lifetime :)

Wayne Luke 12-08-2008 03:24 PM

What about the first question... I want them to be able to purchase Product A, B and C under one invoice. Seems now in my testing, you have to purchase Product A... Then Product B in a separate purchase and so forth. Not very useful and will hurt sales.

I understand what you are saying. I didn't originally understand it in the original context.
I will look into getting this setup in 2.1
Saying that, its a great idea and I appreciate your feedback, thank you.

demo dosent work!

wrong login/pw

EDIT :

--- but installed and working like a charm.. ;)

lenzo 01-05-2009 12:51 PM

Yeah. Demo does not work anymore.

Vaupell 01-08-2009 04:47 PM

One problem, when on the product page and click priority forum support link.

it directs you to forum (6) and i cant find a place to edit the link direction.
so i guess ill be looking through the templates to find that link,
but it would nice if we could edit the support forum location from admin cp..

Vaupell 01-08-2009 07:27 PM

Futher more,

After a purchase user is REQUIRED to enter a valid URL,
which is not that great if the products you intend to sell
arent for website use. should be optional for AdminCP.

Also There is no overview of sales, or costumers for admin,
dont know if that is present in the "pro" product but it is
not present in the lite, or more like a demo.

so in short 3 things im missing before i would buy Members area

- Status / overview / csotumer overview
- Additional AdminCP options, suchs as variable's (links to support)
- Checkmark required information for a purchase.

and after purchase member needs to go back to the forum or mail
to find the userid and password and have to copy paste them into
the forum before actually able to download the "software"

But i still highly recommend "members area 2.0" to anyone asking for
purchasing system for vbulletin. just missing those few points.
howewer if someone could confirm they are in pro ?

well then.. :up::up::up::up::up:

I will look into having this added. vBMA was mainly designed for people selling software so didn't really consider this too much, but will look into having this added for a future release.

The only way to do this at present, is by going into User Manager, then searching for a user and clicking "View Users Licences". We are already developing a page with all the required stats, so keep your eyes peeled for that one

Definately looking into this for you.

This is already possible. When a user buys the licence, they are emailed AND PM'd their customer number and password. This is definable in the ACP, if you want both sent, either or none.
