Automatic Thread Closing
Hello guys this is my first mod ported for 3.7, it still works on 3.6 though!
Features:
I was getting tired of all those people necro-posting, posting in threads that are up to three years old. This is my solution Time to install: Less than one minute History: 1.00 release 1.10 threadbit display closed 1.20 all settings through ACP 1.30 close thread after reply-count 1.40 bugfix 1.50 dunno what I did 1.60 option to exclude or restrict to the list of forum ids After billions of requests, I have finally done what you did! Note Don't forget to click Mark as Installed! Also, my testing system is down but the worst this hack can cause is a syntax error. |
Great job.
I like your version 1.50, eheheheh ( sorry ) Installed.... |
Installed and nominated.
You are GREAT!!!!!! |
What I'd love to see is after the specified time, it automatically moves a thread into a different forum. I have archived areas and this would be perfect if it could do that.
|
can this work as move to reported or expired posts sections ?
|
Exactly what i needed, cheers
|
Has anyone gotten this to work on 3.7.4?
|
Thanks, just what I was looking for my trash section.

If this mod could somehow be combined with the mod here -- https://vborg.vbsupport.ru/showthread.php?t=178050 -- it might just be perfect!!! I need the automatic part of this mod, but the move thread to another forum part of the other mod...
|
I like the way the mod merriweather posted lets you select what forums to enabled much easier way.
any idea if that something you would add?? |
installed and nominated.
you have no idea how long i've been looking for a mod like this! |
updated!
I have it installed since the previous version. is an excellent aid for moderation. just as with the earlier version, would be important and necessary, an automatic message, under any user administrator of the reasons why the issue is closed! now, once again, thank you very much, for all the work! |
Time, is this hours, days or whats the go?
|
My bad just noticed the field under it
|
Great, thank you!
The feature to set a timelimit was exactly what I searched for... |
Does anyone know if this works on 3.8.2 ?
Thanks! Jan |
I'm about to find out... :)
I would assume this runs via a cron job but I don't see anything listed under Scheduled Tasks... Added: 1. yes, it works like a charm for vBulletinversion 3.82 2. I don't know how it works but I just enabled a few minutes ago and it's already locked the appropriate threads. I'm still curious as to how it's triggered, though. |
It simply checks the date and if it's too old and fits the right forum, it will appear locked. That's all. No database changes at all.

Can't you just view the code?
Well it runs when needed, it's not a cronjob. It just runs with showthread and modifies the output. |

Lol. No not really.
|
So Nice
thanks |
Can this also be used to close a thread automaticly after x posts have been made?
|
Installed but for some reason the icons do not indicate that the thread is closed. Any suggestions?
Manually closing a thread does show the right icon. Jan |

Thanks for the script.
|
Thanks for the script.
Can you add a feature to this script like a condition for the threads if the thread is open and there was'n any post for the last x days it should be closed. Best Regards, Kamal |
Brilliant, brilliant, brilliant.
Oh, did I mention it's brilliant? :D |

Works in 3.8.3 fine for me. :)

Somehow I cannot see the timeunits mentioned. I can select by dropdown its just that its blank. I am just counting by guess to select the option. How to fix it?
|
:(, didn't work for me :(
vb 3.8.2 How come this hack closes threads without any cron task? |
