users with same IP search?
 

isnt there a mod or a option that lets us search the db for users with the same IP? i thought there was a mod like on here, cant find it....and i also thought there was a option like that in the search for users in the admincp, cant find it either...

any ideas?

There's functionality already available with vBulletin

AdminCP -> Users -> Search IP Addresses

i dont see a option to list users with the same IP. thats what im looking for

If you enter a user name, it will list the user's IP address and from there, there is a link to find more users with the same IP.

i know that, but i want to click a link and have it show me any usernames and IP's that are registered with multiple accounts

Which is a cookie based notification system that can help detect users who are using more than one account though I don't have any personal experience with the mod.

ya i saw that. its cookie based. user needs to login...

surprised that this isnt made yet as a mod or a default option in the admincp. u think its a hard mod to make?

I use this Mod - IpInfo -- Extra user IP information It has come in handy at times.

but with that mod u still have to click the users name right?

is useless because some people dont have static ips so one day they have an ip and the next someone else has it.It dont mean they have multiple accounts.

Yep, exactly. Many users have dynamic IPs and so this isn't going to tell you much at all.

not completely true. if the registered accounts have 0 post, you can tell they are or might be spam accounts or scraper accounts. you can aso check similarities between accounts, if there are post, or email address types.

I would like a configured process that shows me all duplicate IP addresses, so that I can later review what may be taking place(not saying I'd take action).

Just because it can be circumvented doesn't mean you wont catch someone doing it.

Any link to a VB 4 mod that does what I'm looking for, I'd be grateful. I found a VB3 mod that did it(a couple I think). I see this thread is like 3 years old. So has this mod been made?
