Finally updated 1/23/10! - Popup PM for vBulletin 3.7 has been updated to Popup PM for vBulletin 3.8! Please download the new version there.

All support for vBulletin 3.7 is hereby discontinued. :(

Tips no longer needed since killing the mod. :(

Cool. Let me know if you run into that same problem I did when editing a post with the AJAX quick editor, where it won't disappear when you click Save. I'll try to get that worked out in the next day or two.

I went back and had a test on the quick editor bit, and worked still.... the editor disappeared :) good lil mod this... will nominate it :)

Edit: It's only happening on one of my two forums, so it might be related to my style on one of the forums. It seems to work fine on most forums/styles.

Yeah, I realized my issue had nothing to do with this modification, apparently my quick editor is just broken altogether. :p Haha.

Is there a simple way to change the redirect to a simple message saying it was sent via the same pop up window?

Installed, have a little remark: i think you should better use smth like $stylevar[imgdir_misc] instead of "images" for the url of "close" button. This will be useful for forums with 2 or more styles installed.

Yes, not an easy way as of yet, but something I will try to get in next release. I built this for my own purposes for now, and will modify it beyond that purpose as I have time. :p

I uploaded everything and the edits were made, but it did not work.. probably a conflict with another JS.

Wouldn't be hard to tweak. You'd pretty much apply the same template edits (the headinclude code, the onClick actions in the PM links, and the hidden DIV that contains the popup form) and I don't see how it wouldn't be compatible. I just don't know if the templates are significantly different or not, so the auto template edit might not work if they were. Otherwise... yeah, should work fine.

you don't really mean that, do you? it's just that having the notice on every popup window is a little... obtrusive.

I got one from the other script- perhaps we can work through it on PM?

It has automatically edited my templates but on uninstall it won't roll these changes back. I am having to undo all changes by hand.

You know... How hard would it be to incorporate this to quick reply? I'm kinda a noob coder but would it be a heck of a lot of changes to the .js and .xml ?

I know, right, especially since there are so many places to put a notice on a mod consisting of a single popup window.

I don't think a smallfont notice pointing others to this mod thread is too much to ask for the time I put into the product XML. If you do, maybe you should try creating a few mods yourself... just a thought.

ehhh whatever, man - like many people i use smaller fonts, so the notice is of equal prominence with the rest of the site's text.

At last count I think about three of my 7,000+ users had their own vB installations, so it's not like anyone's going to be rushing to click the link to this thread. One of those three has already complained about your notification, although that was as much about the perceived tackiness of the "Facebook style..." title as it was about the size of the links.

It's a nice mod alright, but i'll uninstall later.

I have installed this on my forum, but it seems to have stretched the first post in each page of a thread. I am using a fixed width style, and it stretches just the first posts on the page to fluid.

I removed it and changed it to something a little bit more respectable

I dont know if I have too many Mods installed and Templates Edit but when I send a PM everything seen to work but never send the PM at all. I send it to myself but never received any PMs at all.

Any Ideas?

Never mind I fixed the problem, I use Moderate Private Messages Mod at my Board for spaming. LOL

Since installing this mod, it appears that I cannot delete PMs using the single "Delete this Message" Option, although I can delete them using the Check/Uncheck boxes. Could this mod be the reason for this?

Maybe you could charge to remove it? It's a very cool mod but even in smallfont that brand sticks out like a sore thumb in that small window.

I've seen other do 'branding-free' on their mods and charge a small $5 or $10 'donation' fee.
