Hacked by aSSaSSin_HaCkErS

This is my site, www.streetcarsusa.org

I dont have a backup and tried to follow instructions given to others about how to fix their sites but I dont know how to access half of the stuff they where told to check.

Try to reupload all your vBulletin files to your website - and reconfigure your config.php to match the old data.
Usually website 'hackers' don't remove the stuff - they just put up a page within the php files.

i just restored my site from the same hacker. for me, it was the database. i'm thinking it was because i had allowed users to enter html code. I just switched it off.

i tried restored the files in my public_html and it didn't work. only after, i restored my database the hack was lifted. hope that helps.

I agree, its one of the most dangerous things you can do, apart from posting your admincp password in your forum :D

Got it fixed. Thanks to everybody who helped...

I have the same problem too! It's the forth time in a month! I am really tired of it and thinking of moving from VB! Shall I restore the database or could it be fixed by reuploading the files? I have already updated to 3.7.4

vbulletin stuff just want to say its not a vbulletin bug , but it is .
I even installed vbulletin 3.8 beta 2 . and same thing happend again .

dismas 11-11-2008 09:23 AM

3.8 beta 2 is just that a beta. It is not a stable, and supported, release.

I'm not saying that this is why you're getting hacked but don't assume that 3.8 is stable just yet.

Try hiding your vBulletin version and adding .htaccess password to your admincp directory.

Videx 11-12-2008 06:25 PM

Ya, and can we assume you've changed all your passwords? Not just you, but all other admins & mods. And any FTP and Cpanel account passwords also. And be sure to file tickets with your host, as it could be someone hacked into the server.
