IMPORTANT NOTICE 2: This hack only works with FlashChat 5 and later versions, and will not work with FlashChat 4.7.x.
There is version of this hack that will work with FlashChat 4.7.12, and can be downloaded here.


What Does This Hack Do?[hr]hr[/hr]
It is a update of my v3.7.x hack available here, with a couple of small changes.

This hack allows you to integrate the FlashChat 5 Admin Panel into your vBulletin Admin Control Panel, so all administration is done in one place, nothing more, nothing less. This hack does not in any way change the FlashChat 5 Admin Panel works, nor does it add anything extra to it.

It comes with Administrator Permissions, so you can limit which administrators you want to admin Flashchat via the AdminCP. You can even optionally remove FlashChat's own nav links - see the screenshots for comparison.

What hacks need installing before installing this hack?
These hacks need to be installed in this order and working correctly, for this hack to work.

1. Tufat's FlashChat v5.x.x
2. Paul M's Flashchat 5 Integration for vB 3.8 v3.8.002
3. Then install this hack.

vBulletin Version Compatibility[hr]hr[/hr]
This hack can only be used with v3.8.0 and later versions.

Gave me a problem in the admin. The only thing I see in the admin cp now is *[]*. Im suing 3.7.3.pl1 and I have ugraded to the newest flash chat 5.

I have seen this over a dozen times over the last couple of versions of this hack, it is a classic sign that you have not done Step 3 correctly.

Go over and follow the installation instructions to the letter, and your problem should go away.

Do not use < and >, in this case it is just chat you want to use.

I take it you have vBulletin v3.8.x, Flashchat v5.x.x and Paul M's Flashchat: Integration for vB 3.7 v3.7.009 installed and working correctly?

If so, what do you get if you put the full url to the flashchat admincp in the address bar?

yes the chat runs correctly, the integration also (i've changed the version of the vB into the xml) ... what do you mean with the full url?

Something along the lines of:
What do you see on the screen if you enter the full url? Is it still a Page not found message?

This should not be happening, as over 600 installations of this have never come across this problem.

[s]To help you further I will need to take a look at your installation.

So, if want me to take a look then feel free to PM me your site address, an temporary Super Administrator user account (it has to be that, so that I can check on Administrator Permissions, I can also sort out the other permissions I need from there) and an ftp account, without these I cannot help you. I will look when I have time, and even if I have a look, I can not guarantee that I will be able to fix it, if your site is not in English (I only read/write in English), but will definitely look at it, so it is up to you what you want to do. You can always remove the temp admin and ftp accounts after I have helped you out.

I see you are having a problem with Paul M's integration - As noted here, and you posted to his thread after I had replied to this problem.

Once you have that working and if you are still having a problem with this hack, then post back here, as the first post states what needs to be installed and working 100% before installing this, and Paul M's integration is obviously not (and you stated in post #9 that it was working).

I tried uninstalling the 3.7.3 version and have this left in my adminCP:

vb3.8RC1 won't allow install of Paul M's Flashchat: Integration for vB 3.7 v3.7.009 which is a prerequisite to installing this MOD.

The error message is:

The following dependencies were not met:

1. This product is not compatible with version 3.8.0 Release Candidate 1 of vBulletin. (Compatible starting with 3.7.0 / Incompatible with 3.7.99 and greater)

How should I go about it?

How can I move the FlashChat navbar item to be listed under Community instead?

I am not quite sure what you are asking. Can you clarify please?

Currently you can have a FlashChat link in the vB navbar and/or in the Quick Links dropdown. I'd prefer to be able to add the FlashChat link to the Community dropdown menu in vB 8 to help keep my navbar clean.

That is totally unrelated to this hack, this hack is AdminCP based only.

I am assuming you have Paul M's integration installed, and that the navbar link would have been added by his hack, so, it would probably be best to ask him how to do it in his hack.

If you have any problems with this hack, then I am more than happy to look at them :)

Does this hack help me change the background colors and such for FlashChat ?

I just downloaded FlashChat for the first time...

And I pretty much hate it so far because of the lack of instructions or ease of use to understand. I have no idea how to change the background colors..

what is this hack going to allow me to do ? control admins permissions of flashchat ? Im the only Admin of the forum and I dont want anymore admins. I'll have the Moderators to play around with the Flashchat. Hopefully thats able to be done...

I just support the admincp integration, you will have to ask on the Flashchat forums on how to change the background colours, see below:
The hack does the below, so yes it will do what you want it to do, as only admins can use the Admin CP:

After upgrading to 3.8, installing flashchat with 3.8 integration and then installing Paul's 3.8 flashchat integration, i am getting this error with your mod:


the flashchat intergration with paul's 3.8 version works fine as you can see here. I have followed your possible fix regarding this line in the .xml of both the intergration and your mod:

<dependency dependencytype="vbulletin" minversion="3.8.0" maxversion="3.8.99" />

both were correct.

Oh, crap, when I checked Paul M's 3.8 integration I already had this hack installed, so totally forgot about the check for hack version.

Give me a few minutes and I will upload a new version to take this into account :)

I have installed this but can't get to any the options shown in the Flash Chat Admin Panel. I think I might not be entering the right links in the includes/xml/cpnav_flashchat.xml" file.

I changed each instance of "chat-folder-name-here" to "chat"

That is correct, although what I expect you have done, is that you have not installed all the pre-required hacks, before installing this one (i.e. requirement #2).

What do you think is the problem?

sweet, great hack bro. only thing I can't figure out is where to go to figure out which members can go in chat and if I don't want some how to ban them. can you give me a good idea of where in "users" I go to add or delete members from using chat?

Cool. But don't work on my site. The chat not more loading, it's only a white screen... I have only changed the Default Language.
