If you use these BB codes combined with the Advanced BB code permissions hack it works great on sites.

mac-warez 10-23-2008 12:02 AM

yes hold on

mac-warez 10-23-2008 12:11 AM

This will conform to your style...

lazydesis 10-23-2008 05:23 AM

whats the use if any registered user can use the [ admin ] message [ /admin ] BBcode .. wouldn't that defeat the purpose?

UKBusinessLive 10-23-2008 04:07 PM

The BB tags can be custom made to what you want, Yes members will try and use the tags if you leave them like that, but most admin will rename this in the Admin CP as something else ie. its almost like a password that only admins will know, same as the mod code, change it to something only you would be able to remember. ( Just change the BB Code Tag Name: MOD , to a word or password of your choice!! Easy :) )

On the whole this is a brilliant code and one that compliments your forum style completely

Marked Installed :D

They'll guess it in no time!

This mod https://vborg.vbsupport.ru/showthread.php?t=194156 restricts it to specified usergroups.

All the same I really appreciate anyone who goes to the trouble of sharing expertise as mac has.

Cheers

If they hover over a thread with the [admin] bbcode at the start it will give it away. I had this issue with a bbcode before:D Everyone started using it! (The [YOU] bbcode btw) Or maybe they guessed it!

They don't have to guess your admin password to post your admin bbcode - Or have I got the wrong end of the stick completely (AGAIN!)

Hi Punchbowl

If you use a password, whatever it may be for your admin BBcode there will not be a way any member can just hover over the final message to get the code. i've used a password made up of my old army number, I doubt anyone would be able to guess that

The reason I like this mod is that it fits in with the same style as your forum, so you'll be making a statement but keeping it clean and friendly and in a form that compliments your forum.

Like many mods on here, some may suit some folk more than others but for my site it works a treat and just what i was looking for.

At the end of the day if its no good just delete the bbcode, simple, but for me its great

:D

punchbowl 10-23-2008 05:22 PM

I'm not complaining. I like the code a lot.

I was wrong about the hover. Sorry about that! And thanks again to mac for sharing

UKBusinessLive 10-23-2008 05:33 PM

Cool ;)

mac-warez 10-23-2008 06:34 PM

Your werlcome everyone. I will update the thread with the Advanced BB code permissions mod. That is what i use to keep members and mods from using my ADMIN code. Then with the mod code you can make it so only moderators can use it.

Advanced BB code permissions.

lazydesis 10-24-2008 03:41 AM

mac-warez thanks for this :) all i was trying to say before was that if advanced BBcode permissions will be included within .. then it will be much more worth :D

mac-warez 10-24-2008 06:36 PM

Your welcome. I hope you all like. I will be releasing some more BB codes here soon. And they are good.

proudgreenyin 10-28-2008 01:20 AM

works great m8 thanks

mac-warez 10-28-2008 06:13 PM

No problem.

iPod Hacker 11-15-2008 10:40 PM

Hey! This code was stolen from when you were a moderator on my site!!

mac-warez 11-16-2008 10:10 PM

No it wasn't My Other Admin Made this. And how could i steal it? I was a mod not an admin

iPod Hacker 11-22-2008 02:10 AM

Its exactly the same code, and mods could use the code, and it was not very hard to view the page source and see the code.

mac-warez 11-22-2008 11:57 AM

Lol i didn't steal your code. Now shut up

mac-warez 12-08-2008 11:45 PM

Bbbbbump

scratchit 03-17-2009 02:58 PM

first off let me say thank you i like it,

now i have tested this on my forum and it works a treat , however if a member makes a post and i (as admin) edit it with the bbcode message) , the member can then go back to his/her post and edit it and the raw code is clear to see.

the only way i can see round this is to take editing permissions away from members whichim not keen on doing

BlueNinjaGo 03-25-2009 02:28 PM

If a user quotes you, they can see what BB code you used, right?

I'd have to look into the mod that restricts access

BlueNinjaGo 03-26-2009 04:03 PM

Oops...nvm

pablete 08-16-2009 02:32 AM

BBCode with this I changed the colors of the table and I added a couple of images, for example:
