How many Staff members do you have?

I have 262 members and 7 staff including myself.

How about you?

nexialys 10-13-2008 01:51 PM

if your staff post more than 15% of the entire threads of the forum, you have too much ma/ods...

if you are an admin and have more than 15% of the forum posts, you need a life.

Users may use RSS feeds like myself.

I currently have about 35% of all posts... I'm trying to get the community active, then I'll lay low, and work on the forum more.

Currently, my forum is new, so it's only me, and my friend who are staff, but on my old forum (had it about 7 months ago..) we had 1k members, and about 7 active moderators, 2 super mods, and 2 administrators, but we all had no lives and were super active :p So we didn't need many more. Plus, from 1k members, not all of them were active.

Netunt 10-13-2008 03:01 PM

3 staff to about 50 members. (Yes, we are a very new site.)

y2ksw 10-13-2008 03:24 PM

We have about 90% staff, 8% habitual users and 2% occasional visitors. This is because our site is for customer support only, and once satisfied, they don't require our services for longer. ;)

Lynne 10-13-2008 04:50 PM

14 Staff for about 80k users. I'm the top poster with about 2% of the posts. This works out fine for us, but I think it really depends on the forum for what is required.

cheat-master30 10-13-2008 06:08 PM

11 staff with 1,633 members on my own forum. With quite a lot of the forum posts (because apart from vBulletin.org and vBulletin.com, it's the ONLY forum I post on).

Calash 10-13-2008 07:35 PM

Just me. I did have a few staff, but over time they have dropped off and I have not replaced them yet.

Traffic has been slow lately so it is not a problem for me to manage.

EWGF 10-13-2008 07:57 PM

Only me. I fired my staff due to lack of dedication.

popowich 10-13-2008 10:54 PM

1.5 admins, 1.5 mods, and a director of common sense that has access to the staff forum and chimes in if we lose our way. :D

I also think this depends on the subject of your forum as well. Political and medical forums should have more than usual.

legionofangels 10-14-2008 02:04 AM

4 Staff, had 700 members until tonight where I pruned 550 of them due to some issues.

I have 34.7% of all the forum posts, due to the fact that I post most of the video content and there are hundreds to do every couple of days, so I'll do like 300 to 400 videos in a night then won't come online for 4 days. lolz

It's been awhile since I've done normal forum posting and if you take away the videos I probably only have 1/8th of the total forum posts.

RedeemedWarrior 10-14-2008 05:20 AM

well i'm an RPG'er (role playing games) so my post count is high

My staff are about 20 yet my site is different to most as we don't have a single "moderator" :P

its more of a themed Site, We have Watchmen and Cabinet ministers (including forumland security)

Afterglow86 10-14-2008 05:52 AM

I have 4 staff for the 600 or so members I have. I also have about 48% of the posts, but that's because I screwed up when I imported from my SMF board last year.

OsideRida06 10-14-2008 06:30 AM

I have 10 members on my staff including myself, and we have just over 5,000 members.

Rapscallion 10-15-2008 07:00 AM

Three admins, eleven mods (some inactive), and just over 1200 active accounts (I don't count total, since an account that hasn't logged in for some time isn't really an account that needs moderating).

1,and that stays

southernlady 10-15-2008 01:23 PM

On one, far too many but I am not demoting them. No one bothers us, and it doesn't bother me that we have that many.

On the other, just me...but I need to add my partner as a tech admin with full powers so if something happens while I am away from the forum, he can get in and fix it.

13 active moderators, 2 admins and some developers for 50K members and 300K readers monthly. 1500 banned members, since we installed vbulletin in 2005.
We review and moderate everything that is posted in forum, blog, image gallery, wiki, etc...

Hitterman 10-25-2008 06:49 AM

570 Members and 5 Staff Members. Very Bad:(
I need staff members but couldn't find anywhere.

Rapscallion 10-25-2008 05:43 PM

With 570 members, there should be some reasonable people in there. Look for the ones who actually give advice instead of taunting new people, then ask them privately if they want to work for free.

Worked for me for ages.

Hitterman 10-26-2008 08:08 AM

Thanks. Actually many people ask me that they wanted to become mod,but they don't know anything about it.
I am still searching for a mod with a good knowldge of technology. Hope i can find one here;)

We have about 300 members, and I have 1 admin, 8 global moderators and 4 forum specific moderators. We have about 125,000 posts on the forum and I've posted 10k of those. We are a mom's group with several private forums (for stuff like discussions on post partum depression) that require moderation to join.

I am the only one on mine. It is nice in someways. But in others it really stinks! It is ironic that I am such an "in-person" type of person and I get a job that forces me to be an "online" type. Not that there is anything wrong with that. It is just a bit of a stretch for me.

I would love to able to leave all the online comm to some one else and I would just take care of the technical issues. I think I will hit my boss up for some support staff soon.
Wish me luck! :D I am sure I will need it!
