databas error after moven to new server
 

hi all ive just moved my forum to a new server im sure ive did it all right but getting a database error what i think it is, is wen it was on my last server it was on the D drive and now i think its on a diff drive could this be whats cosing the database error ???? if so is there any thing i can change for to make it work ??

We need to see the exact database error before we can speculate about what the cause it.

i couldnt get the error log so i just tried to install a fresh copy and all i get is a blank screen :(

When you get a database error, you need to go View Page Source on it and the database error is listed at the bottom of the page source. That is the error I was wanting to see.

thanks for the info lynne got that sorted now i cant upload my database cos its too big :(

Upload a copy of your database to your website then ask your webhost to import it for you with SSH.

thanks slippy will do that, so is there not a easy way i can do it ive tried bigdump but keep getting a error

and ive changed the latin thing but not too sure if its to the right thing and ive out the right database info in

your username/pw appear to be wrong

Remove the CREATE DATABASE line from the backup file.

thanks for all the help all i got it sorted i used a different mysqldumper and worked fine part from one error at the top of the header

This error tells you that the files ./classifieds/inc_ads.php is missing.

im re-uploading all the files just now so hope this sorts it

nope that didnt help :( its not doing this on my main forum

disable the classifieds plug in

i dont have that installed anymore :S did i forget to take a code out some ware u think

You probally forgot to take the XML file out.

i cant find any XML fils for clasafieds

did you check the includes/xml folder?

Its hard to tell you exactly what needs deleted because most of us don't have the classifieds addon installed. You should seek uninstallation support from the modification author if you are no longer using it to get better/faster support
