Suggestion: vBulletin 3.8 Add-ons

Can add an section to post hacks for vBulletin 3.8??

Thanks

Personally, from previous years. I think it's better to wait till the FINAL release.

Otherwise, we have tons of 3.8 Beta 1 hacks released. I think it would be more "efficient" to wait till the final release.

Just my 2 cents.

will be added in the near future...

The logic is that almost all 3.7x work as fine as with 3.8 since like its name indicate, those are ADD ONS

I think personally the beta should still get hacks for it, because even if they're only useful for a short period, they still have some use and should still be hosted here.

It'll be added in time :). 3.8 is still in beta, no need to rush.

Like we have done in the past, new sections will be opened once 3.8 is out of Beta.

But with 3.7, You opened a section when it was in beta stage.

Could have sworn 3.7 Mods were added before it was out of beta. Granted it was in Beta and then RC for a long time, but I'm sure some people will already be working on mods/skins for it.

They were, when v3.7 was Beta 2 (Beta 1 was never released).

The 3.8 forums will be added later this week, its not just a case of adding forums, some backend stuff has to be done as well.

Ran out of time last week, hope to add these over the weekend. :)

Thanks. Can close this thread.

Hi,

I was wondering how the 3.8 section shall be handled for our mods.

Most of the 3.7 mods as someone said earlier in the thread will work on 3.8.

As coders, what should we do :
- Shall we add the mods in the 3.8 section again ?
- Or shall we ask for a move of our mods with a redirection in the 3.7 section ?

I personnally think the second solution would be better to manage for coders as we wouldn't have to go to do support in 2 different threads for the same mod...

And if the mods are not moved to the 3.8 section, users will think that the mod doesn't work on 3.8 which would also be stupid.

What is the status of the vB.org team on that subject ?

As it stands you have the two options you posted, you can either create a new 3.8 version (which I will be doing), or you can ask for your existing thread to be moved, and add a note it works in 3.7 also.

In the case of a move, would there be a redirection link in the 3.7 forum ?

We never place redirects inside the modification forums, and rarely in the normal forums.

Well thanks for the answers
